TSN. Cy Sneed Astros Jersey .cas NHL Play of the Year showdown continues today with a starter and a finisher. The final match-up of the Round of 32 sees Calgary netminder Reto Berras acrobatics pitted against Hurricanes forward Nathan Gerbe and his breakaway theatrics. Weve already seen some kick saves in the opening round, but Berras easily gets top marks for distance. Jack Johnson has a good look at the net on a Blue Jackets power play, but Berra comes out of nowhere with a denial. Going into a full roll, the Finnish netminder not only gets his pad up to stop it, but connects with a near-bicycle kick to fire the rebound out of the crease in a move thats "more Pele than Brodeur." Gerbe wins a foot race for a breakaway and then goes into full "skills competition" mode for the finish. Easily beating a pair of Flyers to a loose puck, Gerbe barrels in all alone on Steve Mason. Cutting across the net, Gerbe drops the puck between his legs and reaches back for the flip shot going against the flow. Mason manages to get a piece of it, but by the time the puck is in the net, Gerbe is already halfway back to the bench. He treats the unbelievable move like its just another day at the office. With Pistorius now back watching the proceedings from a wooden bench, the double-amputee Olympians defence team was attempting to bolster his account that he shot girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp by mistake through a toilet door in his home, thinking she was a dangerous intruder about to attack him in the night. Pistorius faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted of premeditated murder in Steenkamps death in the early hours of Valentines Day last year. But former police officer Roger Dixon, testifying for the defence, also appeared unsteady as chief prosecutor Gerrie Nel warned him that it was irresponsible to "try and be an expert" in areas he was not. Nel asserted in his cross-examination that Dixon was not an expert in light, sound, ballistics, gunshot wounds or pathology -- all areas about which he was testifying. Dixon worked at the police forensic laboratory in Pretoria until he left the force in December 2012. He was a specialist in analyzing materials at crime scenes. He now works in the geology department at the University of Pretoria. Nel also accused him of not answering questions directly. "For an expert you are evasive," Nel said, prompting the judge at one point to tell the energetic prosecutor to "restrain" himself. Earlier, the judge ruled that proceedings will adjourn for more than two weeks after Thursday because a member of the prosecution team has another case to attend to. The trial will resume on May 5. During the cross-examination, Nel showed that Dixons findings regarding Steenkamps gunshot wounds came from analysis of autopsy photos and from a pathologists report because he was not present at the autopsy. He also hadnt read parts of the pathology report, Nel charged. The prosecutor also criticized Dixon for not bringing photographs and his written reports with him and abruptly told him to bring them on Thursday. "I said I will," Dixon snapped back. "Good," Nel responded. Nel ridiculed Dixons finding about the sequence of the shots that Pistorius fired at Steenkamp through the door, testimony which contradicted that of a police ballistics expert and state pathologist Prof. Gert Saayman. &"I use the word finding very loosely," Nel said wryly of Dixons theory. Cesar Geronimo Jersey. Questioned by defence lawyer Barry Roux, Dixon said he believed Steenkamp was hit in the hip and the arm in quick succession by the first two of four shots while she was standing close to the toilet door. Raising his right arm in the courtroom, Dixon indicated he believed Steenkamp may have had her right arm extended and maybe her hand on the door handle, as if she was about to open the door through which she was shot. The defence was using his testimony to try to cast doubt on the prosecutions account that Steenkamp fled to the toilet and was hiding there during a fight with Pistorius. Nel has said that the runner intentionally shot Steenkamp through the door as she faced him and while they were arguing. Nel mocked what he said was a suggestion by Dixon that Steenkamp was knocked backward by one of the bullets. "Its something you see on TV," Nel said dismissively, challenging the expert to find scientific literature that showed it was possible. Nel also pounced on Dixons concession that an audio test that the defence conducted to compare the sounds of gunshots to those of a cricket bat hitting a wood door -- which both happened on the night of the killing -- had to be done a second time because of problems with the first. He even asked him if he was an expert at swinging a cricket bat, a cutting reference to his hitting a bat on a wood door in the defences audio tests at a gun range. Dixon had also said he took part in the audio tests that showed the sounds of gunshots and of a cricket bat hitting a wood door were similar and could be confused. That is important because several neighbours have testified that they heard Steenkamp scream before shots on the fatal night, backing the prosecutions case that there was a fight before Pistorius shot his girlfriend with his 9 mm pistol. Pistorius defence says the witnesses are mistaking the sequence and they heard Pistorius screaming in a high-pitched voice for help before breaking the toilet door open with his bat to get to Steenkamp. When played by Pistorius lawyers in courts, the two noises were similar. But questioned by Nel, Dixon said the tests had to be repeated and that they were recorded and edited by a music producer who had no experience in recording gunshots. "I have no idea on the expertise of the person who recorded the sounds," Dixon said. ' ' '

HAMILTON - Brandon Stewart and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats emphatically punched their playoff tickets Saturday. Jay Buhner Jersey .Stewart scored a key first-half touchdown before Brandon Banks and Nic Grigsby added fourth-quarter scores as Hamilton cemented top spot in the East Division with a 29-15 home win over the Montreal Alouettes. The Ticats capped their regular season with a 7-2 record, their best second-half mark since 72 when after a 1-3 start the squad won 10 straight en route to a Grey Cup title.Following a 1-6 start, Hamilton is a win away from a second straight Grey Cup appearance.Whoever is coming theyve got to come to Tiger-town to see us, Stewart said. What else would we want? You have to come through Hamilton to get to the ship.Hamilton (9-9) needed to beat Montreal (9-9) by eight or more points to finish first and host the division final Nov. 23. The Ticats have not hosted the CFL East final since 1998. The Alouettes won the first meeting 38-31 on Sept. 7.The Ticats also eliminated Toronto (8-10) from post-season contention. The Argos, who beat Ottawa 23-5 on Friday night, needed Montreal to win in order to take second in the East Division. The Alouettes will host the B.C. Lions in the East semifinal next weekend.Zach Collaros hit Banks on a 15-yard TD strike at 2:31 of the fourth, capping a smart 57-yard, 11-play drive that mostly came against a stiff wind in the third. After a Montreal field goal, Grigsby scored on a six-yard run at 11:24 to put Hamilton ahead 28-9.We never lost the faith, Collaros said of Hamiltons stunning turnaround. We knew we were a good football team, we knew we were a bunch of good football players. We finally started to execute a little bit and just played great team football.Added head coach/GM Kent Austin: We have a really strong locker-room and these men believe in each other. Theyre a no-excuse football team, they come to work, they understand they have to have constant improvement.Hamilton improved to 6-0 at Tim Hortons Field before an enthusiastic gathering of 24,186 that braved wet and windy conditions. The contest marked the first time the upper deck was open.Collaros was an efficient 20-of-28 passing for 208 yards with a TD an interception. Banks finished with five catches for a team-high 65 yards but Hamiltons offensive workhorse was Grigsby, who ran for game-high 93 yards on 19 carries. He really ran the ball well, especially on a day when we needed to be able to kill the clock against the wind, Austin said. To have the lead at halftime and then run out the clock in the third was big.Hamilton ran for 131 yards and scored 29 points against a Montreal defence that had allowed just 74 points over its last six games. Offensively, Hamilton had the ball for almost 37 minutes as the Alouettes offence managed 281 yards, including just 17 yards rushing. We did a great job against the run and got them into passing situations, Austin said.Montreal had its six-game win streak snapped and fell to 8-2 with Jonathan Crompton as its starter. Crompton was 18-of-35 passing for 284 yards and had a 17-yard TD strike to Duron Carter, but it came with 19 seconds remaining.Wed rather have it (bad game) now than next week, Crompton said. Were in the playoffs, were hosting a game so its a bitter-sweet feeling.Wed rather have a week off but, you know, lets do it the hard way.Montreal could be back in Hamilton for the East final, but Crompton said redemption is the furthest thing from his mind right now.Our focus is on the semifinal, he said. Weve got to come in and make sure we focus on the little things because now its win or go home and we know that.Weve just got to make sure we come out and perform like we need to.Justin Medlocks 23-yard field goal at 5:25 of the third put Hamilton ahead 14-6. It was set up by Craig Butlers recovery of an onside punt as Medlocks 17-yard kick hit Ed Gainey, who had lined up onside, allowing Butler to give the Ticats the ball at the Montreal 24-yard line.It was Hamiltons second such attempt and despite the two Ticats lining up onside, Montreals returners remained deep and allowed the ball to hit the ground rather than have someone come up to play it short.Medlock had two field goals, three converts and two singles.Whyte had Montreals field goals. The opportunistic Ticats scored 10 points off Montreal turnovers to take an 11-6 half-time advantage. Medlocks 18-yard field goal at 3:03 of the first came after Erik Harris recovered James Rodgers fumble on the opening kickoff.Stewarts recovery at 5:31 of the second to put Hamilton ahead 11-0. Stewart jumped on a loose ball in Montreals endzone after running back Chris Rainey couldnt handle Cromptons swing pass.Rainey, figuring it was an incomplete pass, gave no chase on the play.I dont know what he was doing but we all saw a live ball on defence, Stewart said. It was a scramble but I ended up with the ball.Cromptons 53-yard completion to S.J. Green was the big play on an 81-yard, six-play drive that Whyte capped with a 23-yard field goal to cut Hamiltons lead to 11-3 at 8:57. Whyte then connected from 30 yards out at 12:19.NOTES — Defensive back Emanuel Davis and offensive lineman Jake Olson didnt dress for Hamilton while receiver Mardy Gilyard and defensive tackle Corvey Irvin were Montreals scratches . . . OTTAWA -- Ottawas new CFL franchise has unveiled its uniforms, which put a fresh twist on a familiar colour scheme. The expansion Redblacks home jersey is predominantly black with red trim, while the away jersey is white black strips down the sides. Those colours have a long association with professional sports teams in the nations capital going back to the original Rough Riders football franchise and the "barber-pole"-style jerseys of Ottawas famed Silver Seven and original Senators hockey teams. The players numbers and the lettering on their names feature stylized axe notches, a nod to the citys history as a lumber town. The uniforms were unveiled at a fashion show-type event in Ottawa where the coaching staff and cheerleaders also showed off their new duds. Veteran quarterback Henry Burris gave the uniforms a thumbs up. "Oh my gosh, letts play football right now," he said as he stood on the stage with some of his teammates. Fake Mariners Jerseys. Viewers in the Jets region can catch the game on TSN Jets at 5:30pm ct/6:30pm et and listen to it on TSN Radio 1290 in Winnipeg. The Jets are 8-2-0 since hiring Maurice to take over for the fired Claude Noel. The surge has the Jets sitting only four points out of a playoff spot in the West. Maurice, of course, coached the Hurricanes during two separate stints from 1997-2004 and again from 2008-12. He led Carolina to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2002, when they to the Detroit Red Wings. The Jets picked up a 2-1 win Sunday afternoon in Montreal, as they kicked off a four-game road trip on a positive note. Michael Frolik scored the winner in the third period and Al Montoya made 30 saves to help Winnipeg pick up its fourth win in five games. "I made the first save and our guys were there to battle," said Montoya. "Any guy in front of the net, you mind him and take care of business." Tobias Enstrom scored the other goal for the Jets, who will visit Washington on Thursday before playing their final game before the Olympic break Saturday in St. Louis. This evenings tilt is the first of two scheduled encounters between the Jets and Hurricanes in 2013-14, as the former Southeast Division rivals are now in different conferences thanks to realignment. Winnipeg went 3-1-0 against Carolina in last seasons series and the Jets have won four of five and seven of the past 10 in this matchup. The Jets also have claimed three in a row and four of their past five in Raleigh. The Hurricanes could have Cam Ward in net for the first time in 2014 on Tuesday, as the goaltenders team shoots for its sixth win in seven games. The Hurricanes are 5-1-0 over their past six games and the club managed to post a 10-4-0 record in January despite Ward missing the entire month due to a lower-body injury. Jeff Bagwell Astros Jersey. The clubs No. 1 netminder last played for Carolina on Dec. 31 when he earned a home win over the Montreal Canadiens. Ward recently completed a conditioning stint with the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League, going 1-1 with a 2.02 goals against average with Carolinas AHL affiliate. Its unclear if Ward, who is 6-7-5 with a 3.15 GAA and .895 save percentage this season, will start on Tuesday or if Anton Khudobin gets the call again. Khudobin, who was named the NHLs First Star for January, has started 13 of Carolinas last 14 games and he is 5-1-0 over his past six appearances. All told, the Russian netminder was 10-4-0 with a 2.19 GAA and .927 save percentage in January. Carolina had a four-game winning streak snapped last Tuesday in Montreal, but the Hurricanes rebounded from that 3-0 setback with Fridays 3-1 home victory against St. Louis. Jeff Skinner recorded the deciding goal early in the second period and Khudobin stopped 27 pucks for the win. Skinner, who leads Carolina with 23 goals this season, scored just his second goal of the last 10 games. Nathan Gerbe and Alexander Semin also tallied for the Hurricanes. "Right from the get go I thought our guys were focused," said Carolina head coach Kirk Muller. The Canes enter Tuesday with 59 points, leaving them three points behind final playoff spot in the East. Carolina is also only three points in back of Philadelphia and Columbus for third place in the Metropolitan Division. This evenings test is the second tilt on a four-game homestand that will cap Carolinas pre-Olympic break schedule. The Hurricanes are 14-10-5 as the host this season. ' ' '

Tepesch, back from the minor leagues, earned his first major league victory in more than 10 months and the Rangers edged the Seattle Mariners 4-3 on Wednesday. Ross, back in the bullpen after an unsuccessful stint in the rotation, bailed Tepesch out of a seventh-inning jam. Neal Cotts, whose ERA has ballooned from 1.11 in 2013 to 4.34 this season, had a strong eighth. Joakim Soria, back in a closers role this year for the first time since 2011, pitched a perfect ninth inning for his eighth save in eight opportunities. The Rangers offence had three first-inning runs and Shin-Soo Choos leadoff home run in the bottom of the fifth that broke a 3-3 tie. Choos fifth homer went into the bullpen in left-centre. "Two strikes, I was in a rough spot. I think about more (getting) on base," he said. "Got a home run that got up in that gust a little bit, thats it," Mariners manager Lloyd McClendon said. "Its a tough ballpark to pitch in, but I thought (Chris Young) did a pretty darn good job for us. Texas turned two double plays. The second was on Ross second pitch after entering the game with one out and runners on first and second for the Mariners. Pinch hitter Stefen Romero grounded to Adrian Beltre, who stepped on third base and threw to first to complete the inning-ending double play. "I was thinking, Gosh, here we go! Im in a situation where I like to be. I was pretty amped," Ross said. "I wanted to be out of that inning without those runs scoring." Tepesch (1-0) allowed five hits and two walks in 6 1-3 innings for his first win since defeating Houston 10-5 on July 5, 2013. The second-year pitcher threw a career-high 112 pitches. It was his second start this season for the Rangers after being recalled from Triple-A Round Rock, where he was 6-1. Texas manager Ron Washington has noticed a difference. Because I had a lefty ready. The look in his eyes, he convinced me, and I had to end up getting Robbie to bail me out." After that, it was Cotts striking out Robinson Cano, who had homered earlier, and Seager, who entered the game with a .358 average in Arlington, with a runner on second base in the eighth. Against former Rangers right-hander Chris Young (3-2), Daniel Robertson led off the first with a walk and scored on Elvis Andrus homer. Alex Rios singled home the third run. Seattle tied it in the fourth. James Jones tripled and scored on Michael Saunders single. Cano then hit his two-run homer. Center fielder Michael Choice ran back to attempt a catch, but his glove hit the wall as the ball barely cleared it. Seattle had only one baserunner against Tepesch in the first three innings: Seager on a leadoff single in the second. He was erased in an unusual 4-5-3 double play. With Texas defence shifted to the right, Smoak grounded to second baseman Luis Sardinas, who threw to Beltre covering second. Beltres relay throw to first beat Smoak. Young gave up seven hits and three walks in 6 1-3 innings. "You have those games where if you can limit the damage early, you feel like youll pitch a good game, and I gave up one too many in the first," Young said. TORONTO - A good day for the Ottawa Redblacks and the CFL, but a painful one for the other eight teams. Dean Deetz Jersey . "Theres no doubt," Toronto Argonaut GM Jim Barker said after Mondays expansion draft. "Everybody in the league lost players they didnt necessarily want to lose. "Its not a fun deal. You spend time and you develop (talent) but for the league its a great exciting time. And I thought (GM) Marcel (Desjardins) and (coach) Rick (Campbell) and those guys did a fantastic job in piecing together their picks." The Argos lost Canadian offensive lineman Joe Eppele and linebacker Jason Pottinger and import defensive end Jonathan Williams to the Redblacks. Barker tried to prepare his squad for the coming changes. "I sent all the players a letter over the weekend. Our team we knew was never going to be the same, but this (draft) is different. It doesnt happen very often." The Argos lost an offensive line starter in Eppele and a former starter and important special teams contributor in Pottinger. Williams, described by Barker as an up-and-comer, saw action on and off as a backup. "We have ideas of what we want to do but it obviously changes things that you might have done," Barker said of the losses. "Thats the process were in now — trying to recover and fill holes." The Argos hope McMaster offensive lineman Matt Sewell, a first round pick in the 2013 draft who spent some time in camp with the Tennessee Titans, might be able to help their cause. A longer shot is linebacker Cory Greenwood, a Concordia product taken third overall by Toronto in the 2010 draft who is currently on the Detroit Lions injured reserve list. The six-foot-eight, 301-pound Eppele appeared in all 18 games last season. "We just had too many guys," Barker said of his Canadian offensive line talent. "We just couldnt protect all of them." Eppele is due to undergo shoulder surgery next week, a fact that was disclosed to Ottawa. "Joes a good enough player, they felt it was OK to take that risk," Barker said. Pottinger played three seasons in B.C. before joining Toronto in 2009. The six-foot-two 238 pounder, who lost his starting job to Robert McCune, had 13 tackles and 14 special teams tackles in 2013. Barker said Pottingers loss will be felt on and off the field. "Hes everything a CFL player is all about," said Barker. "Hes been as instrumental in turning this organization around as anybody in it. Im so indebted to him for what hes done since he came here." Williams, 6-2 and 282 pounds, was a B.C. Lion in 2009 before joining the Argos in 2013. After rallying to beat the Ducks last week and coming off yet another comeback victory, the Flames look to avoid losing their 19th consecutive regular-season game in Anaheim tonight. Never mind the grey hair, Ill have to get my heart checked, Hartley said after Calgary rallied to beat New Jersey on Saturday. I dont know how they do it but we found a way again. Were not making it easy but were making it interesting. Trailing 2-0 after one period and 3-1 after two, Calgary (13-7-2) scored three times in the third, including twice with its goalie pulled, before prevailing 5-4 in a shootout. It was the first time in team history that the Flames scored twice with their goalie pulled in favor of an extra attacker. Calgarys league-leading five victories when trailing after two periods are one more than it had in that same scenario last season. The Flames rebounded after twice rallying to tie Chicago before falling 4-3 on Thursday. That defeat came two days after Calgary overcame a 2-0 deficit to win 4-3 in a shootout against Anaheim (13-4-5). We attack, we attack a lot, and we create a lot of scoring chances, backup goaltender Karri Ramo told the Flames official website. Sometimes it comes and bites us, but thats what Ive noticed and think its the reason we find success when were behind. We play on the edge all the time and keep pushing. Former Ducks goaltender Jonas Hiller made 24 saves and allowed one of three players to score during the shootout Tuesday in his first game against the team with which he spent his first seven seasonns. Joe Biagini Jersey. To be able to play with that team means a lot, said Hiller, who has a 3.45 goals-against average while splitting his last four starts. Its likely Hiller will be in net for his return to Anaheim, where the Flames are 0-13-5 in the regular season since a 5-1 victory Jan. 19, 2004. They are 0-12-5 there since a 5-2 win during the 2006 playoffs. Defenseman Dennis Wideman scored twice against the Ducks last week and added another goal versus Chicago before being held without a point Saturday. Teammate Curtis Glencross matched his season goal output with two against the Devils. He has seven points in his last seven games, but none in the last six versus Anaheim. Kyle Palmieri had the tying goal in the third period at Calgary and opened the scoring Sunday as Anaheim beat Arizona 2-1 for its first regulation victory since Nov. 2. The Ducks went 2-1-5 between regulations wins, but still had to sweat things out Sunday. We got to learn to play with the lead a little bit better and learn to finish them off instead of inviting them back in, said Frederik Andersen, who made 26 saves after posting a 3.62 GAA while going 1-1-2 in his previous five starts. Andersen allowed all three goals on 19 shots and two in the shootout against the Flames last week. Ryan Getzlaf was blanked at Calgary, but has six goals and 15 assists during a 13-game regular-season home point streak against the Flames. It seems unlikely that Anaheim defenseman Clayton Stoner will be available after missing Sundays contest because of a possible case of the mumps. Teammates Corey Perry and Francois Beauchemin each missed five games this month with the virus. ' ' '

The three-year deal was finalized on Monday and fundamentally changes the way Japanese players are acquired by MLB clubs. Now, if an NPB Club wishes to make one of its players available to Major League Clubs, they will notify the MLB Commissioner of the players availability and the release feethat must be paid to the NPB Club in order to secure release. The NPB Club may not set the release fee higher than $20 million and the fee cannot be changed once set by the NPB Club. The Commissioners Office will then post the player by notifying all MLB clubs of both the availability of the player and the fee sought by the NPB Club. Postings must be made between Nov. 1 and Feb. 1. A 30-day period begins the day after the player is posted, and concluding 30 days later, with any Major League Club willing to pay the release free to negotiate a contract with the posted player. If a team is able to reach an agreement with the player, the fee will then be paid out to his NPB club in installments. Should the player fail to reach an agreement with an MLB club, the release fee is not owed and the player may not be posted again until the following November. Under the current system, teams submit their top bids in secret with the highest bidder gettingg an exclusive negotiating window to sign the player. Gary Sanchez Yankees Jersey. The deal comes as MLB teams wait to hear about the potential availability of the latest Japanese phenom pitcher, Masahiro Tanaka. The New York Yankees were believed to be the front-runners for Tanaka, since their deep pockets would allow them to submit a high posting bid, while only having Tanakas salary count towards luxury tax. However, under the new system that advantage would no longer play in the Yankees favour. Since only the posting fee is luxury tax-exempt. The change levels the playing field, giving players like Tanaka the ability to choose between whichever clubs deem his services worthy of a maximum bid. Whether or not Tanaka gets posted still remains to be seen as his club - the Rakuten Golden Eagles - has been going back and forth on whether to actually make him available. Tanaka reportedly wants to play in North America, but the change to the system has made posting him less lucrative to his Japanese club. The highest bid ever submitted by an MLB club for a Japanese free agent came in January of 2012 when the Texas Rangers paid a reported $51.7 million for the right to negotiate with pitcher Yu Darvish. The Rangers and Darvish took almost the full allotted month to reach an agreement, with Darvish settling for a six-year, $60 million contract on the final day of the negotiating window. ' ' '

A person familiar with his decision tells The Associated Press that Vikings quarterback Matt Cassel will void the 2014 option on his contract and test the open market. Fake Football Jerseys . The person spoke on condition of anonymity Wednesday because he was not authorized to discuss Cassels decision, which leaves Christian Ponder as the Vikings only quarterback under contract. Cassel would have made $3.7 million next season if he exercised the option by Friday. Cassel was waived by the Kansas City Chiefs before the season and picked up by the Vikings. CARSON, Calif. Cheap NCAA Jerseys . - The Montreal Impacts improving defence was seconds away from stifling one of Major League Soccers hottest goal scorers Saturday night. But Erick Torres converted a volley in the 94th minute to give Chivas USA a 1-0 victory and deny the Impact a point. "Its heartbreaking," Montreal coach Frank Klopas said. "I feel for my players because they put a lot into the game. I definitely feel that we should have walked away with points. "But, sometimes, the game is cruel." Chivas USA (5-7-5) earned its third consecutive win when Torres scored his 12th goal of the season, and his fourth in four games. Marco Delgados shot ricocheted off Impact defender Matteo Ferrari to an unmarked Torres, who tapped the ball to himself with his right foot and sent a nine-yard volley between goalkeeper Troy Perkins and the right-wing post. Until Torres scored, Montreal (3-8-5) had not allowed a goal in 405 successive minutes spanning three MLS games and the Canadian Championship win against Toronto FC on June 4. Seconds after the Impact took the ensuing kickoff, referee Juan Guzman whistled the games end. The Impact had three chances to score. In the 18th minute, an unmarked Felipe Martins chipped his 14-yard shot over the crossbar. In the 57th minute, Chivas USA goalkeeper Dan Kennedy deflected Andres Romeros 27-yard shot to Jack McInerney, who also fired shot over the crossbar from nine yards. Then in the 66th minute, Kennedy used his right hand to deflect Romeros eight-yard shot into his body while on his knees. "I just felt our decision-making could have been better," Klopas said. "We had chances in transition when they were pushing forward. But once they were set, we kept forcing every play to be the perfect pass." The Impact remains the only MLS team without a win on the road. Klopas believes time is running out for his team to win away from Stade Saputo. "Now, the second half of the season is starting and every game becomes very important," Klopas said. "For us, its going to be a difficult stretch. Weve got to find ways to get points on the road. I felt tonight was a really great opportunity." Perkins made two saves and needs three more to tie former Canadian international Pat Onstad for ninth place in career saves. ATLANTA -- With their playoff hopes uncertain, Atlantas struggling batters picked a bad time to get no-hit by Cole Hamels and three Philadelphia relievers. Fake Vans Slip-on . "You feel like youve hit a good stride," manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "And all of a sudden you go through a stretch where you score one run in 27 innings, and lucky enough to win one of those games." Hamels and the Phillies bullpen combined on the seasons fourth no-hitter, blanking the Atlanta Braves 7-0 Monday. Atlanta lost 4-0 two days earlier to Miami and beat the Marlins 1-0 Sunday. The Braves, who had won 11 of 15, began Monday 1 1/2 games back in the NL wild-card race. But nobody could solve Hamels and the Philadelphia bullpen. Jason Heyward drew two walks and stole three bases. Atlanta was otherwise punchless. "He walked a few guys on and he gave us an opportunity," Justin Upton said after going 0 for 3 with two strikeouts. "We should have executed in that situation, but we didnt and it just kind of steamrolled from there." It was all the more unusual in that Hamels left the game with his bid intact after six innings. He was fine with the decision, too, having already thrown 108 pitches at a hot afternoon at Turner Field. "Just understanding the situation, every time I went out there I was battling control issues," Hamels said. "I wasnt getting ahead of guys. Walking the leadoff hitter will put you in a lot of trouble, and it does. It builds up your pitch count." Hamels (8-6) struck out seven, matched a season high with five walks and hit a batter. Relievers Jake Diekman, Ken Giles and closer Jonathan Papelbon each pitched a perfect inning to finish off the gem. A smiling Hamels watched from the bench as they finished off what he started. Clayton Kershaw and Josh Beckett of the Dodgers and Tim Lincecum of the Giants threw no-hitters earlier this year. Right fielder Marlon Byrd foiled the Braves best bid for a hit. With runners on second and third in the third inning, Byrd raced in and toward the line to make a diving catch on Chris Johnsons slicing liner to end the inning. Johnson came close again in the ninth with a grounder up the middle. Shortstop Jimmy Rollins ranged behind the bag to make the play. Phil Gosselin then lined out to first baseman Darin Ruf, who had taken over in the ninth for Ryan Howard, to end the game. Hamels singled and scored in the sixth inning, and got pats of congratulations in the dugout after pitching the bottom half. He was on deck in the seventh, but a decision already seemed to be made when he was pulled for pinch-hitter Grady Sizemore. The 30-year-old Hamels already had impressive accomplishments on his resume -- in 2008, he was the MVP of the World Series and the NL championship series, and hes a three-time All-Star. Diekman struck out two and Giles fanned three before Papelbon took over. This was the 11th combined no-hitter in major league history. Kevin Millwood and five Seattle relievers teamed up to do it against the Dodgers in 2012. The first combined no-hitter came in 1917 when Babe Ruth walked the first Washington batter of the game and was ejected, and Boston Red Sox reliever Ernie Shore didnt allow another runner. Roy Halladay pitched the previous two Phillies no-hitters -- he threw a perfect game against the Marlins in 2010, then threw a no-hitter the same year in the playoffs against Cincinnati. It was 12th no-hitter in Phillies history. The last pitcher to no-hit the Braves was Ubaldo Jimenez of Colorado in 2010. Philadelphia manager Ryne Sandberg knew Hamels was tired and ready to come out of the game. Their discussion was a quick one. "He was pretty well spent there," Sandberg said. The early innings had something to do with it. The stressful innings, stranding the runners at second and third a couple of times, but he wasnt going to go nine." Ben Revere tripled and drove in a career-high five runs. The leadoff man started the day with 15 RBIs this season. Julio Teheran (13-10) gave up five hits and five runs -- two earned -- with four walks in 6 2-3 innings. He left after Reveres bases-loaded triple made it 5-0 in the seventh. Shortstop Andrelton Simmons error set up the runs. Philadelphia has won Hamels last five starts against the Braves. He owns a 0.97 ERA and four victories in that span. "Past the third inning he started throwing the ball where he wanted to," Johnson said. "With that cutter and that sinker both in, you didnt know which way it was going to go, whether it was going to go in on your hands or back towards the plate." UP NEXT Phillies: RHP Kyle Kendrick (7-11) starts Tuesday vs. Atlanta. He has a 6.55 ERA over his last nine starts. ... Braves LHP Mike Minor (6-8) is winless with two losses and a 2.77 ERA in two starts against Philadelphia this year. Craigs rankings represent his own individual assessment of where players are slotted in the NHL draft. (Prev. indicates previous ranking on Craigs List - November, 2014) The team selecting first overall in the 2015 NHL Draft should give equal consideration to Connor McDavid and Jack Eichel. To this point I have had McDavid number one and Eichel number two. No longer is that the case as I have them in a dead heat as the best player available for the 2015 NHL draft. Two generational talents and the debate will rage on as to who should be the first selection. My opinion is that they both bring elements to the game that are unique to them. McDavid’s ability to play at high speed and execute. Eichel’s exceptional reach and ability to move laterally through traffic. It’s not that Eichel can’t execute at high speed or that McDavid doesn’t move laterally through traffic, only that it’s hallmarks of the each other’s games. They both impact the game through their strengths and find ways to raise their level when required. The World Junior tournament will bring intense scrutiny but they have been under it for years and have not shown any sign of being shrinking violets. I know there can be only one player selected first overall but one day I lean towards selecting McDavid and another day it is Eichel. The day for deciding is far off but there is nothing separating these two players at the moment. Noah Hanifin of Boston College is a very talented player but he no longer stands alone as the next best player after McDavid and Eichel. I have always felt that Zach Werenski of the Michigan Wolverines is very close to Noah in ability and potential. Both are 17-year-old defensemen playing NCAA hockey and both are faring well. Along with Oilver Kylington of AIK in the Swedish Allsvenkan and Ivan Provorov of the Brandon Wheat Kings, they comprise a quartet of defensemen who all show potential to be top two defensemen in the NHL. All may have the opportunity to play in the TJC so scrutiny may very well extend beyond McDavid and Eichel. Dylan Strome, Mitchell Marner, Nick Merkley and Kyle Connor round out the top 10 and they possess high end offensive talent that NHL teams covet. Teams picking after number two will have the opportunity to add players who can have a significant impact on their teams’ fortunes. It may not be any easier determining who a team may prefer but it certainly looks like the quality of player is extremely high. 1. INDIANAPOLIS - The Colts took one page out of Bill Belichicks book Monday. Rod Carew Twins Jersey .Theyre already on to next season.Theyd like to borrow another — reaching the Super Bowl.Less than 24 hours after another stinging playoff exit at New England, Indianapolis players and coaches turned their attention from the disappointment of falling short to a seemingly bright future for one of the younger teams in the league. We are close and every year weve taken another step, defensive end Cory Redding said as he started packing up his locker. I believe next year, we will take that next step.To achieve that goal, the Colts (13-6) know they cannot afford to stand pat. After stringing together three straight 11-win seasons, back-to-back AFC South titles and going one step deeper in the playoffs during each of Andrew Lucks first three seasons, New England again exploited Indys most glaring deficiencies in a 45-7 AFC championship game rout. While Luck has excelled behind a makeshift offensive line the past two years, the Colts ground game has not.Defensively, Indy still has not found a solution to New Englands power running game, either. The combination prompted team owner Jim Irsay to tell reporters Sunday night that Indianapolis must become a tougher team to continue its ascent, just three years removed from a 2-14 season that allowed Irsay to completely rebuild.Coach Chuck Pagano acknowledged those are two areas the Colts must improve in the coming months, if they are to get past their biggest nemesis. And make no mistake — those moves will be designed to turn the tables on New England, which has beaten Luck four straight times by a combined 189-73.Pagano has no doubt the Colts can find a way to break through. This is an up-and-coming team, Pagano said. There are things from that game that we recognize that need to be addressed and we will address them. ... Were knocking at the door and weve got to find a way to kick it in.Here are some other things to watch during the offseason:RETIREMENT RUMORS: Redding and receiver Reggie Wayne, two cornerstones of Indys resurgence, are both free agents. At ages 34 and 36, its unclear whether the Colts will bring them back — or whether they even want to come back. Both said Monday they would take some time before making a decision, but both believe the Colts could make a Super Bowl run in 2015. This is a good team, Wayne said. We had a lot of guys who fought through a lot of stuff and we made a lot of progress.TRENTS FUTURE: Trent Richardsons may not be back with the Colts next season. The No. 3 overall pick in the 2012 draft has been a huge disappointment, and its become increasingly clear Indy is unhappy with him. Since losing the starting job with two games left in the regular season, Richardson took one offensive snap in a wild-card round win over Cincinnati and was inactive for the final two playoff games, on Sunday because of a family emergency.INJURY QUESTIONS: Vick Ballard, Gosder Cherilus, Robert Mathis and Donald Thomas all wound up on injured reserve. The biggest question is what can the Colts expect in 2015? Ballard, a running back, has missed 31 straight regular-season games. Thomas, an offensive guard, has missed 30 in a row. Mathis, the 2013 sacks champ, is coming off a torn Achilles tendon at age 33, and 30-year-old Cherilus, Indys right tackle, had three different injuries this season and was getting around on crutches Monday.DRAFTING: Indy has been a bigger player in free agency in Paganos first three seasons. But general manager Ryan Grigson believes the draft is a foundation for success. With a young team and lots of contracts up after the 2015 season, the Colts need another good draft to get some young, inexpensive talent to get them past the Patriots.SIGNINGS: Indy signed receivers Kadron Boone, Ryan Lankford and Josh Lenz, defensive linemen Gannon Conway and Kelcy Quarles, running back Jeff Demps, linebacker Carlos Fields, safety Winston Guy, offensive lineman Tyler Hoover, and tight end Erik Swoope to futures contracts. All 10 were on Indys practice squad.___AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP_NFL Tom Kelly Jersey . -- Omar Infante walked past the visiting clubhouse at Kauffman Stadium, where he dressed so many times as a member of the Detroit Tigers, and slipped on a crisp, new Kansas City Royals jersey. Kirby Puckett Jersey . - Joao Plata scored twice in the final 24 minutes, including the winner in stoppage time, to help Real Salt Lake remain unbeaten with a 3-2 victory over the winless Chicago Fire on Saturday night. https://www.cheaptwins.com/2202t-taylor-rogers-jersey-twins.html .ca. Kerry, I hope you address Ron MacLeans comment during the second intermission of Game 4 in Montreal-Tampa series. Basically, he suggested that the NHL should not have used a referee from Quebec, following the Game 3 disputed non-goal, because the referee could be biased towards Montreal.England netballlers will turn full-time at the beginning of June as part of their quest to reach the 2019 World Cup final. The decision follows an England Netball board meeting at the end of last month and comes into effect on June 1.The England Roses will have their first training session as fully-fledged professionals on June 13 in Loughborough. England Netball CEO Joanna Adams says the landmark decision has been taken in the hope that England can close the gap on southern hemisphere powerhouses Australia and New Zealand. Its important to make these decisions in order to accelerate the development of the England Roses success and get even closer to the top two teams in the world, Adams said. England head coach Tracey Neville speaks to players during the 2015 World Cup semi-final Once again wed like to extend huge thanks to Sport England for their continued support of our athletes, without which they wouldnt be able to perform at the level they do.The news was also welcomed by Manchester Thunder head coach Dan Ryan, who was working as a pundit for Sky Sports during Monday nights 54-34 win for Hertfordshire Mavericks against the Yorkshire Jets.I think its a great sstep forward for the sport in this country, he said. Jack Morris Twins Jersey. Obviously coming from Australia Ive seen how the programmes are put in place and how athletes are living the life as professional netballers over there and the same thing in New Zealand. Dan Ryan says announcement is a big step forward for netball in England Ive always been a big believer that for England to go world number one they have to replicate what the top two countries in the world are doing. To have full-time professional athletes here in England, I think is that first major step to bridging that gap between the top three countries.Team Bath Director of Netball, Jess Thirlby, added: Moving forward, its great we are following in the footsteps of womens football and creating that opportunity now for athletes to choose it as a career and embark on that for as long as they can.A complete list of players going full-time will be announced at a later date following the completion of a selection process. Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork. Nike Air Max 270 Sale Outlet .com) - Balanced scoring and a dominant fourth quarter helped the NBAs hottest team to another win on Sunday. Marc Gasol supplied seven of his 12 points in the second extra session. Alex Len tallied 14 points and 13 boards, Isaiah Thomas poured in 20 points off the bench and Markieff Morris provided 17 points and six rebounds for the Suns, who have dropped two straight on the heels of a four-game winning streak. Rudy Gay netted 23 points and Darren Collison added 16 points and six assists for the Sacramento, which has won three of its last five games. James missed his eighth straight game with a sore knee and Cleveland fell to 1-7 in that stretch. Kevin Love posted 25 points and 10 rebounds, Kyrie Irving supplied 21 points and seven assists and Timofey Mozgov provided 14 points and 12 boards for the Cavaliers, whose fifth consecutive loss dropped them to .500 (19-19) for the first time since Nov. 26 when they were 7-7. LaMarcus Aldridge posted 15 points and nine rebounds, while Wesley Matthews added 16 points and five helpers for Portland, which has won eight of its last nine games. Wesley Johnson netted 17 points to lead the Lakers, who were without Kobe Bryant due to rest. LA fell to 2-4 on the season without him in the lineup. Nike Air Max 270 React Electro Green .com) - Scott Parel carded a 5-under 65 on Thursday and he grabbed a 1-stroke lead after one round of the season-opening Panama Claro Championship. "Theyve got a lot of weapons," said OShea, Torontos former special teams co-ordinator until he got the top coaching job in Winnipeg. Catch all the action on TSN and TSN 1050 starting at 8:30pm et/5:30pm pt, with pre- and post-game coverage available on TSN 1050 and TSN 1290. "It just so happens that the ball always travels through Ricky first. But, obviously, Im quite familiar with all the guys they have and what they can do offensively." The Bombers play the Argos in the CFL opener at Investors Group Field. It kicks off an expanded season with the addition of the Ottawa Redblacks to the CFL East this year and the return of the Bombers to the CFL West. The Bombers made a lot of changes between seasons and likely arent finished. The Argos have also made changes, although on offence coach Scott Milanovich says theyre ready to go. "I expect us not to miss a beat offensively," he said after the Argos landed Wednesday. "Our expectations are pretty high, weve got a lot of players returning," agreed Ray. "Youve still got to do it on game day." But he also said with little pre-season experience, he expects to make a few mistakes. The Toronto defence sounds more like a work in progress under the guidance of former Bomber head coach Tim Burke, now back in a more familiar role as defensive co-ordinator. "Well have a good defence, I think its going to take us some time," Burke said. The Bombers have their own holes to fill. The depth chart for Thursdays game includes six players at middle linebacker, where they lost Henoc Muamba to the NFL. On Wednesday, they added Canadian offensive lineman Gord Hinse, who played in Edmonton last season, although he immediately went on the six-game injured list. Starting well is important to OShea. "Wed like to come out there and be as physical as we can and set a standard, set up a minimum standard for us and keep building from there," said OShea. "Were going our there to win and set a pace for the season." If the Bombers want to see how rookie starting quarterback Drew Willy performs under pressure,, they couldnt ask for a better opponent. Nike Air Max 270 Black And White. Ray has thrown 3,780 completed passes for 251 touchdowns and three Grey Cups over 11 seasons in the league with Edmonton and Toronto. "Sometimes I cant believe Im going into my 12th year," he said Wednesday. Willy has completed just 101 for nine touchdowns and has only four starts in his prior two seasons as a backup in Regina. The Bombers are staking a lot on Willy as they try to appease fans turned off by recent struggles, while the Argos want to get back to the Grey Cup after stumbling in last years East final. Willy says keeping Ray off the field as much as possible is going to be a key for the Bombers Thursday. "We definitely need to be efficient," he said of the offence. "We need to make sure our drives take some time." Oh, and scoring touchdowns rather than field goals would also be good, he noted. One thing Willy brings to the table is durability. He says he has only missed two games due to injury in his career, a hand injury in practice that cost him two games when he was in his sophomore career at the University of Buffalo. The Argos brought rookie running back and Winnipeg native Anthony Coombs along. He sits third on their depth chart behind imports Curtis Steele and Jeremiah Johnson. "This time its for keeps so Im exited to be out there," said Coombs, who also saw action in their exhibition game in Winnipeg. Veteran Winnipeg offensive lineman Glenn January couldnt promise a win but he did promise a lot of effort come Thursday night "I think were going to be a passionate team and were going to be a well-prepared team," he said. "If we go out there and we do stumble and dont get the win, its not the end of the world. Its an 18-game season." The Argonauts finished 11-7 in the regular season last year but then fell to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the East final. Hamilton went to the Grey Cup but lost to the Saskatchewan Roughriders at home in Regina. "Right now were an average football team. We have a potential to be more than that," said Milanovich. After a 3-15 season that cost Burke his job, the Bombers were a long way from average last year. The Argos beat the Bombers all three times last season and also beat them in their first pre-season game this year, 24-22. ' ' '

EAST RUTHERFORD, N. Kyle Lewis Jersey .J. - The New York Giants have a pretty good hunch what to expect from Minnesota with newcomer Josh Freeman taking over at quarterback for the struggling Vikings. Adrian Peterson to the left. A.P. to the right. Peterson more often than not in the nationally televised game on Monday night between two of the leagues biggest flops this season. Watch the game on TSN starting with Monday Night Countdown at 6:30pm et/3:30pm pt. The Giants (0-6) are reasonably sure Freeman isnt going to know the offence totally after just a couple of weeks with the Vikings (1-4). That leaves Peterson to carry the load off, and thats not a bad option with the halfback coming one of the best rushing seasons in league history. "I think hes a different guy," Giants defensive co-ordinator Perry Fewell said when asked to compare him to some of the better backs in the league. "I watched him in the off-season study and hes really good. I see guys hit him, tackle him, beat him up, punch him and he just keeps coming. Hes got an iron will, and hes just a strong runner, and hes got a great determination to make those yards, and so we all have to be on the same page. Well have to swarm tackle. Well have to gang tackle. Well have to see what we hit and hit what we see." Freeman is the bigger question mark for the Giants defence, which has given up a league-high 209 points. He was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier this month after a miserable start and signed by Minnesota because starter Christian Ponder hurt his ribs. Ponder is expected to be the backup this week. Freeman started 59 games over four-plus seasons in Tampa with his best being in 2010 when he threw 25 touchdowns and six interceptions. He had four TDs and 12 interceptions in his last six games and his quarterback rating of 59.3 this season was last in the league when he was released. "From the moment he stepped in the building, he wanted to learn. And the way he handled himself in that practice, it changed my mindset about the possibilities," Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said. "We had a timeframe in mind originally, but watching what he did from the day he arrived, that cemented it for me that sooner was a possibility." When he was with Carolina, Giants middle linebacker Jon Beason played against Freeman a lot, and he knows the quarterback is a competitor. "Hes more than capable, hes a good dude," said Beason, who had a team-high 12 tackles against the Bears on Oct. 10 in his first start. "I know him personally, and he can make all the throws, he scrambles better than people think, so not having him on tape kind of hurts us on the defensive side because it leaves you guessing." Beason said the Giants need to stop the run first, something the team has done well in recent games LeSean McCoy of the Eagles and Matt Forte. Peterson, who rushed for 2,097 yards last season, is special, Beason said. But its a challenge he relishes. "Thats how you define yourself," Beason said. "Its all about what you do against the man. If hes the standard, then you want to see where you measure up." With the Vikings trailing against Carolina last week, Peterson was limited to 62 yards on 10 carries, a season-high 6.2 yard average. He was limited at practice on Thursday and Saturday and did not practice on Friday because of a hamstring injury. He has been listed as probable for the game. The Giants running game is a more iffy with Brandon Jacobs also fighting a hamstring. He did not practice on Saturday and is questionable for the game. If he cant go, the Giants will have to use either veteran newcomer Peyton Hollis, who was signed this week, rookie Michael Cox or feature fullback John Conner. The result is the Giants might have to rely more on Eli Manning, who leads the league with 15 interceptions. The only certainty is that this is a game between two teams desperate for a win. "Certainly we have to approach it that way in our preparation, and when were on the flight to go over there we have to approach this with a must-win mentality," Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway said. "And our coaches need to coach like that. Our players need to play like that. We just have to have that approach all week, that every game at this point is a must win." Jim Presley Jersey . Its been two seasons in one for both parties and neither will look back on the first 18 games fondly. "I think I took the fall for a lot of things," said Gay, reflecting on his short time in Toronto ahead of Wednesdays game against his former club. Randy Johnson Jersey . CHAUNCEY BILLUPS (Pistons): Yes they got Josh Smith and Brandon Jennings in the off-season and Andre Drummond is a beast (teams are kicking themselves for passing on him - he rebounds and block shots every game - thats two more discernable and significant skills than most guys in his draft class), but dont for a second discount the impact of having a savvy veteran like Billups on your team. https://www.cheapmariners.com/1405k-jake-fraley-jersey-mariners.html .C. LAS VEGAS -- TJ Dillashaw pulled off a stunning upset, dominating bantamweight champion Renan Barao until the fight was stopped at 2:26 of the fifth round at UFC 173 on Saturday night. Brett Cecil Jersey . "Ive dreamed it for so long, its unbelievable," Dillashaw said. "If you can dream it, it can happen." Dillashaw, a 9-1 underdog entering the fight, ended Baraos 35-fight unbeaten streak. "Barao is the best in the world in my eyes," Dillashaw said. "I had to bring my A game to become the champion." The challenger utilized excellent footwork to attack from different angles, finding his range early and limiting the damage Barao was able to inflict. Dillashaw (11-2) landed a hard overhand right in the second that hurt Barao, and nearly had him finished just before the end of the round. He maintained control throughout the next two rounds, switching between southpaw and orthodox stances while peppering Barao with a barrage of punches. Dillashaw was well on his way to victory when he landed a left kick to Baraos head midway through the final round. Barao (34-2-1) fell to the mat and Dillashaw quickly followed with punches, forcing referee Herb Dean to stop the fight. "Thats who I am, Im aggressive," Dillashaw said. In the co-main event, fourth-ranked Daniel Cormier dominated MMA great Dan Henderson (30-12), winning with a rear naked choke in the third round. Cormier (15-0) is expected to challenge for the light heavyweight title and called out champion Jon Jones. "Jones, you cant run from me forever," Cormier said. "If I decide to take Jon Jones down 100 times, Ill take him down 100 times. Im coming!" Jones is set to fight Alexander Gustaffson in a title rematch, with Cormier expected to face the winner. On the undercard, top welterweight contender Robbie Lawler was dominant in a third-round TKO over fifth-ranked Jake Ellenberger. Lawler improved the 23-10 and will likely earn another shot at the title. "I wanted to go out there and showcase what I can do," said Lawler, who is fresh off a loss to champion Johny Hendricks. "I want everyone to know that Im coming for the title." Sixth-ranked Takeya Mizugaki will continue his climb up the bantamweight ladder after a unanimous decision over 10th-ranked Francisco Rivera, and James Krause stopped Jamie Varner via TKO when Varner was unable to answer the bell for the second round due to a leg injury. In the preliminary bouts, Michael Chiesa, Tony Ferguson, Chris Holdsworth, Mitch Clark, Vinc Pichel, Sam Sicilia and Li Jingliang each earned victories. Pulling off a comeback for the ages, feisty Stephen F. Austin became the latest No. 12 seed to pull off an upset, tying the game on Desmond Haymons did-that-just-happen four-point play with 3.(SportsNetwork.com) - The margin for error is getting smaller and smaller when it comes to the AFC playoff hunt for the Miami Dolphins. And the Dolphins cant afford another slip up when they put a period on Week 13 of the NFL season by visiting a hapless New York Jets team turning back to Geno Smith on Monday Night Football. Smith, who started the first eight games this season before being benched, replaced Michael Vick under center during last Mondays 38-3 drubbing at the hands of the Buffalo Bills, a setback that dropped the Jets to 2-9. Embattled New York coach Rex Ryan claims to have made the decision and informed both quarterbacks Wednesday morning. Everybodys on board with this decision, Ryan said. I have said it all along that I feel we have two good quarterbacks, I definitely feel that. And we have another guy that is a decent quarterback as well, in (Matt) Simms. But I feel that way. Smith had been the Jets starter for the first 24 games of his career after the team selected him in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He was benched in the Week 8 loss to Buffalo after throwing three interceptions in the first 10 minutes of the contest and Vick was named the starter the following week. We purposely put Geno back, let him observe, Ryan said. Now is the opportunity for him to step back in and lets see how it goes. I, for one, am excited to watch him. He has my support on this, and thats what Ill say about it. Vick started the past three games for the Jets, leading the team to a victory in Week 10 against Pittsburgh to end an eight-game losing streak. He struggled in Mondays game against the Bills at Detroits Ford Field, completing just 7- of-19 passes for 76 yards with an interception while being sacked five times. The game was moved from Ralph Wilson Stadium after the venue was deemed unplayable due to several feet of snow that fell last week, crippling Buffalo and neighboring areas. Smith entered in the third quarter and connected on 10-of-12 throws for 89 yards while being sacked twice. Horrible performance. We couldnt do anything. Couldnt block. Couldnt tackle. Couldnt cover. It was just an awful performance, Ryan admitted. The Dolphins suffered their own disappointing, almost debilitating loss at Denver in Week 12, albeit a far more competitive one when Peyton Manning threw four touchdown passes, three to Demaryius Thomas and two during a fourth- quarter rally, that lifted the Broncos to a hard-earned 39-36 win. The Broncos trailed a gritty Miami team for most of the game and were down 28-17 after three quarters, then erupted for 22 consecutive points in the fourth to regain sole possession of first place in the AFC West. Ryan Tannehill threw for three touchdowns and ran for another to put Miami in position for the upset before Manning engineered his 41st career fourth- quarter comeback. The young quarterback completed 26-of-36 throws for 228 yards with a costly late interception that helped seal the outcome. As a competitor, you dont like to see it, Tannehill said. We didnt score enough points in the second half. Jarvis Landry hauled in two of Tannehills scoring strikes and recorded seven catches for 50 yards. The Jets lead their all-time series with Miami by a 50-45-1 margin. OOn Monday night, the Dolphins play . Ken Boyer Cardinals Jersey. 00 football at 40-40 while New York is underwater at 20-29. The two teams will rematch in South Florida during Week 17. WHAT TO WATCH FOR Miami has struggled mightily in close games this season, going 0-3 in contests decided by four or fewer points. In addition to the loss in Denver, the Dolphins suffered setbacks to Green Bay in Week 6 and Detroit in Week 10 due to late-game collapses. We have to find a way to win some of those games, Miami coach Joe Philbin admitted. Were going to be in some more of those games. Thats just the way the NFL is. Entering Week 13, 11 of the AFCs 16 teams had six-or-more wins and most them were above the Dolphins, making this a virtual must win for a team which hasnt reached the playoffs since 2008. I dont think the records really matter right now, Philbin said. We have to go win a game against the New York Jets. Thats really the only thing that is on my mind and should be on our players minds at this point. Getting to play the Jets twice in the final five weeks will only help, especially now that they have turned back toward Smith, who looked terribly overmatched in his first eight opportunities this season. The West Virginia product has thrown for 1,459 yards with seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions this season. Turnovers have been a major issue for the Jets, who are minus-12 on the season, a number that helps explain how the team can be ranked No. 7 in total defense (328.8 yards per game) but be tied for 30th in points allowed (27.5 points per game). Tannehill, meanwhile, has been hot recently and is third in the NFL with a 70.9 completion percentage over his last six games while throwing 12 TD passes against just three interceptions over that span. With Smith back under center the Jets will try to rely on a running game that stumbled against the Bills, gaining just 92 yards on the ground. Miami, however, allowed a season-high 201 against the Broncos with the lightly- regarded C.J. Anderson gashing them for 167. They have an outstanding defensive line, Ryan said of the Dolphins. Absolutely it starts up front. If we cant block them it doesnt matter who you have at quarterback. New York is also expected to be without star defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson due to an injured toe suffered in Detroit. It doesnt look good for Big Mo, Ryan said. If youre in a boot, that doesnt look good for this week. But, hopefully, well get him back as soon as we can. OVERALL ANALYSIS By going back to Smith, Ryan has essentially waived the white flag on the season and his career as the Jets head coach. It also plainly indicates the power in the organization is with unpopular general manager John Idzik. The Jets arent a good team with either signal caller but Vick can at least get hot every now and again and make New York competitive, albeit inconsistently. I think the best thing for this team right now is to play Geno Smith, Ryan said unconvincingly. Right now, for all the reasons we talked about. Is one of those reasons, does he give you a great chance to win, or a chance to win? I believe he does give us a chance to win. Not much of one moving forward.
