OAKLAND, Calif. Jim Pollard Jersey . -- Sweating out a win against the NBAs worst team isnt usually a cause for celebration. For a franchise that has felt frustration and futility for most of the last two decades, Golden State Warriors coach Mark Jackson is making sure his players celebrate every milestone during their long climb back to contention. Stephen Curry had 31 points and 11 assists, Klay Thompson scored 29 and the Warriors moved 18 games over .500 for the first time in 20 years with a 115-110 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night. "You can take it for granted. Theres people thats 19 years old thats never seen this. Thats a wow moment," Jackson said. "Its an incredible accomplishment, and weve still got a ways to go. But were going to park and enjoy it, take a deep breath, appreciate it and then continue to chase down our ultimate goals." Those goals -- making the playoffs, earning home-court advantage in the first round and winning a championship -- are all within reach, though some are further away than others. Golden State (44-26) remains in sixth place in the tight Western Conference standings, 1 1/2 games behind Portland and 2 1/2 games ahead of Memphis and Dallas with 12 games left. The Warriors also trail fourth-place Houston by three games. "We want to try and get that home court" in the first round, Thompson said. "Its in striking distance." The Bucks (13-56) were handed another blow in a season full of them when guard Nate Wolters broke his left hand fighting through a screen in the first half. Reserve forward Jeff Adrien also received three stitches above his left eye before coming back in the second quarter. Brandon Knight had 27 points and eight rebounds, and Ramon Sessions scored 18 for Milwaukee, which has lost six straight and nine of 10 as it finishes off a forgettable season. "My guys played a very competitive game. We put ourselves in great position once again. We just couldnt make the plays down the stretch," Bucks coach Larry Drew said. The Bucks, who lost in overtime at Portland on Tuesday night, surprisingly stayed with the Warriors most of the game until Curry and company found their touch late. On one play late in the fourth quarter, Curry dribbled to his left and was fouled by Khris Middleton when he tossed the ball up -- and in -- with his right hand and his back to the basket. Curry shook his shoulders and waved his arms in celebration, and he completed the three-point play to give Golden State a 104-94 lead with 3:59 remaining. "Once I got the contact, I was able to get the ball above my shoulders to try to find the rim at some point. And obviously thats a lot of luck involved," Curry said. Milwaukee made one last run highlighted by Ersan Ilyasovas three-point play that sliced the Warriors lead to 108-105 with 56.2 seconds left. But Thompson quickly came back with a corner 3, and Curry made four free throws in the final seconds to seal a milestone win for the Bay Areas beloved basketball franchise. The last time the Warriors were 18 games over .500 was when they finished the 1993-94 season with a 50-32 record. They also remain on track to make the playoffs in consecutive years for the first time since the 1991-92 and 1992-93 seasons. The Warriors have five days off after hosting San Antonio on Saturday, and Jackson has been trying to balance winning with getting his banged-up players some rest. Starting swingman Andre Iguodala (right knee tendinitis) and backup centre Jermaine ONeal (rest) sat out for the second straight game. Iguodala also will miss the game against the Spurs, while ONeal is questionable. Milwaukee hardly gave Golden State a night off. After the Warriors went ahead by 10 early in the third quarter, the banged-up Bucks came roaring back. Milwaukee took advantage of some sloppy turnovers by Golden State to go up 66-65. David Lee, who finished with 22 points and 12 rebounds, helped the Warriors put together a brief spurt capped by Jordan Crawfords 34-footer over Giannis Antetokounmpo as the quarter expired. Crawford hit another 3-pointer at the start of the fourth to stretch the lead to 10, and the Warriors held on late. NOTES: The Warriors are 13-4 since the All-Star break, tied with San Antonio for the most wins during that time. ... Drew confirmed C Larry Sanders will not return this season because of a broken right orbital bone. Sanders was injured Feb. 8 against Houston and had surgery shortly afterward. ... The Bucks have lost 11 straight games when theyve allowed 100 points, while the Warriors have won 10 in a row when theyve scored 100 points. Bath earned a scrappy 16-9 Premiership victory over winless neighbours Bristol at the Recreation Ground on Friday night. Jose Martinez Cardinals Jersey . Baths seventh win in eight games put them top of the table - for 24 hours at least - but their mix-and-match line-up could conjure only one try, scored by wing Jack Wilson in the first half.In front of a record attendance at the Rec of 14,241, Bath spent almost all the first 20 minutes tackling and only once had possession inside the Bristol 10-metre line. For all the ball the visitors had in that first quarter, though, they seldom threatened and when they did, poor alignment let them down.Eventually, a 70-metre Tom Homer clearance bounced kindly into touch inside the Bristol 22 and they were suddenly under pressure when Rhodri Williams clearance was charged down. In the 27th minute, Wilson supported flanker Tom Ellis to score under the posts after Matt Banahan had drawn several defenders. Homer converted. Taulupe Faletau (L) of Bath chased by Ryan Edwards of Bristol Errors were creeping into Bristols game but their work at the breakdown was busy and they forced enough turnovers and penalties to stop Bath finding any rhythm. When Elliott Stooke was whistled up at a ruck, Searle made it 10-6 with his second penalty.Homer replied from short range after Bristol were caught offside in a ruck in their own 22 but Searle had the last word on the stroke of half-time with his third successful kick when Ross Batty did not roll away quickly enough from the tackle area.A smart break by Williams from the base of the scrum gave Bristol hope but Bath began to crank up the pressure with their ball carriers and Homers third penalty extended the lead to 16-9.Bristol were reduced to 14 men after 64 minutes when centre Jason Woodward fell the wrong side of a ruck on his own line after Faletaus replacement, Zach Mercer, almost made the line.Bath could not make the extra man count, however, and it was Bristol who finished strongest, forcing a line-out in the corner. ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- R.A. Dickey baffled the Tampa Bay Rays again. Dickey pitched a two-hitter for his first complete game of the year, Jose Reyes went 0-for-4 in his return from a two-month layoff and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Rays 3-0 Wednesday for their 12th win in 14 games. "I just concentrate on trying to produce a good knuckleball down in the strike zone for a strike, and today I was able to do that," Dickey said. "Mechanically, I was very repeatable, and you saw the results. They were hitting a lot of ground balls, I had a high strike percentage, so thats what Im looking for." Dickey (7-8) retired his first 13 batters before James Loney grounded a single between shortstop and third base with one out in the fifth. Yunel Escobar had a one-out single in the sixth, then was erased when Matt Joyce hit a double-play grounder. "Tremendous," Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said. "You could tell early on he had it going. That ball was dancing. Big break. We played a nice ballgame and as good a game as you can pitch, I guess, unless its perfect." Dickey struck out six and walked one. The knuckleballer pitched a one-hitter for the New York Mets against the Rays on June 13 last year, allowing B.J. Uptons first-inning infield single. "He was really good, theres no question," Rays manager Joe Maddon said. "We didnt hit, I think, even one ball hard. He was just on top of his game." Only one Tampa Bay runner, Desmond Jennings who walked and stole second in the seventh, advanced past first base. Adam Lind and Edwin Encarnacion homered for the Blue Jays, who had lost two in a row after tying their team record of 11 straight wins. Reyes, the All-Star shortstop traded from Miami to Toronto during the offf-season, had been sidelined since severely spraining his left ankle sliding into second base during an April 12 game at Kansas City. Mike Matheny Cardinals Jersey. He grounded out three times, stranding runners on second in the third and fifth innings, and also flied out. His average dropped from .397 to .357 (15 for 42). "Everything felt the way that I expected," Reyes said. "I enjoyed being out there because I missed that for a long time." Reyes also made a nifty defensive play in the first inning, going into the hole to make a back-handed grab and then throw out Jennings at first. "Its fun to feel the effect of that right out of the chute," Dickey said. "Ive played with him for a while now, and Ill tell my grandkids about him. Hes that good of a player." Jose Bautista doubled leading off the fourth and scored on Melky Cabreras two-out single. Lind homered in the sixth and Encarnacion in the ninth. Roberto Hernandez (4-9) gave up three runs and six hits in eight-plus innings. "I think Roberto was fantastic," Maddon said. "That was probably his best game all year. Both sides pitched well." NOTES: To make room for Reyes, Toronto optioned SS Munenori Kawasaki to Triple-A Buffalo after Tuesdays game. It was a move that prompted Gibbons to hold a team meeting to announce the news. "Its always tough sending anybody out, but theres something special about this guy," Gibbons said. "He was so well-liked and loved by this teammates. Hell be back." Gibbons said this is first time he has done something like that in his managerial career. ... The game was played in 2 hours, 10 minutes. ... 2B Ben Zobrist took a hit away from Lind in the second, diving to his right to field a hard shot and then throwing to first. ' ' '

CINCINNATI - Cornerback Joe Haden led a line of Browns players jumping to slap hands with joyous fans in the first row. Adidas NMD Mens Clearance . The stadium was filled with the sound of woofing.Felt like times from way, way back when. And with a dominating performance, the Browns suggested theyve finally made it all the way back. The team that has been the AFC Norths bottom dweller for years climbed back into the top spot Thursday night. The Browns were all over Andy Dalton all night long, turning a first-place showdown into a shockingly one-sided 24-3 victory. With every interception and every sack, the Browns showed theyre for real. This is a little different Browns team than the rest of the league is used to seeing, said Haden, who shadowed A.J. Green all over the field and shut him down again.Cleveland (6-3) improved on its best start in 20 years and moved into a first-place tie with Pittsburgh. The Browns also snapped their streak of 17 straight losses to division opponents on the road. The last win? Also in Cincinnati, a 20-12 victory on Sept. 28, 2008.A huge boost for our guys, coach Mike Pettine said. Just look at the streaks we ended. Not many people gave us a chance.Just like the Browns, the Bengals (5-3-1) were trying to break away from some bad franchise history. Theyve played some of their worst games in prime time and wanted to show they were finally ready to hold up under the national attention.Instead, they crumbled along with their quarterback. They also got drubbed 43-17 during a Sunday night game in New England this season.Cincinnati fell to 18-41 in prime time.It does confound me, coach Marvin Lewis said. For whatever reason, the two times (in prime time) this year we didnt play well. Because we were at home, there was an energy and excitement instead of being steely-eyed and focusing on what we have to do.Dalton was 10 of 33 for 86 yards with three interceptions and two sacks and a passer rating of 2. It was another big-game meltdown for the fourth-year quarterback, who has led his team to the playoffs three years in a row only to lose opening games all three times. We didnt start fast and thats on me, Dalton said. I missed a couple early and could never get into a rhythm. The game marked the first since 1986 — when Bernie Kosar and Boomer Esiason were the quarterbacks — that the intrastate rivals played with first place on the line so late in the season. The Browns won that one 34-3.And they were in charge right from the start of this one, too.Playing in a cold, gusty wind, Dalton was repeatedly off-target and made a big early mistake. His first pass was high and incomplete. His next one was intercepted by linebacker Craig Robertson, who returned it to the 18. Five plays later, Ben Tate went into the end zone from 4 yards for the lead.We put a lot of pressure on their receivers by covering them tight, cornerback Buster Skrine said. He overthrew a lot of balls. He started the game with an interception and after that, nothing went right for him.It never got any better for Cincinnati, which self-destructed in a tone-setting first half.Kevin Hubers 25-yard punt into the wind set up a 59-yard touchdown drive by the Browns, highlighted by Brian Hoyers completions of 17 and 22 yards to Travis Benjamin. Isaiah Crowell carried the last two yards for a 14-3 lead early in the second quarter.Billy Cundiffs 32-yard field goal made it 17-3 at halftime. It was Clevelands biggest halftime lead in Cincinnati since 1994, when the Browns won 28-20.The Browns essentially put it away late in the third quarter when Hoyer completed a 28-yard pass to tight end Gary Barnidge in the middle of tight coverage. Terrance West went in from a yard out for a 24-3 lead that sent some Bengals fans to the exits.Cleveland rushed for 170 yards after managing only 158 in the last three games combined. West led the way with 94 yards on 26 carries. Hoyer was 15 of 23 for 198 yards. The only good moments for the crowd of 65,871 came after the first quarter when 4-year-old Leah Still — daughter of defensive tackle Devon Still — was on the field for a check presentation. The girl is fighting cancer and flew in from Philadelphia to see her father play for the first time. The Bengals raised more than $1 million for cancer research and treatment through sales of Stills No. 75 jersey. Still wrote Leah Strong on the eye black strip across his face, and police officers at the game had his No. 75 on the back of their uniforms.Notes: It was Clevelands most lopsided win in Cincinnati since a 34-0 victory in 1987 with strike replacement players. ... The Browns were missing top receiver Andrew Hawkins, inactive with an injured knee and thigh. ... She added that her sentence would be the same regardless of what a person does for a living.Werth, wearing glasses and a conservative suit, briefly took the stand in his own defence. He conceded that he may have been going 90 mph, but disputed that he ever broke 100. He immediately appealed his conviction to Fairfax County Circuit Court. It is not unusual in Virginia for defendants to receive short jail sentences on reckless driving convictions where the speeds exceed 100 mph.Werths lawyer, Rod Leffler, sought unsuccessfully to have the case tossed out, questioning the reliability of the troopers pacing of Werth. Leffler also asked the judge to take into account that the speeding ooccurred at 9:30 a. Fake NMD R2. . on a Sunday morning, when traffic was light. He batted .292 last season with 16 home runs and 82 RBIs in 147 games. While the judge imposed a 10-day sentence, in reality Werth would likely only serve five days because of rules and procedures at the county jail.During the trial, state trooper P.L. Green testified that on July 6, he followed Werth for about half a mile on the beltway at 105 miles an hour before pulling him over on the exit to the George Washington Parkway. Green said he drew his weapon as a precaution as he approached Werth, though he quickly holstered it and said the conversation they had during the stop was cordial. Green said he asked Werth what he was doing and Werth said he was pushing his luck.Nationals General Manager Mike Rizzo said in a statement Friday that Werth has co-operated fully with the authorities throughout this process and declined further comment. With Randy Carlyle returning with an extension in hand behind the Leafs bench, the culture change Tim Leiweke promised at Brendan Shanahans introductory press conference may come in the form of a trade of the teams captain. Air Max Outlet . TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger addressed the Dion Phaneuf rumours on TSN Radio 1050 Monday, saying although the Leafs may not be “shopping” their No. 1 defenceman, he is not considered untouchable and GM Dave Nonis would be willing to listen to offers. “The Toronto Maple Leafs are not shopping him,” Dreger said. “Theyre not shopping Jake Gardiner and Nazem Kadri, but teams know that if theres an offer made – or the right offer made – that Toronto would consider that.” Dreger noted he had spoken with Nonis over the weekend, with the GM saying the team isnt engaged in active conversations regarding Phaneuf, and have not done so since this past trade deadline. Fellow TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie also weighed in on the Phaneuf rumours, saying that although there have not been any recent conversations, the Leafs would not be opposed to a trade. “I think under the right circumstances, the Leafs would move him, and I think at various times over the course of the year they flirted with that notion, but I dont think right at this moment, the Toronto Maple Leafs are in a hard-sell on weve got to get rid of Dion Phaneuf and go in a different direction, but theyre all ears if somebodys interested,” McKenzie said. Comparing Phaneufs situation to the Jason Spezza rumours that have surfaced recently, both Dreger and McKenzie agree that of the two captains, Spezza is the more likely candidate to be dealt as the longtime Senator is reportedly open to a change. Despite owning a seven-year, $49-million deal that kicks in next season, the Leafs captain does not have a no-movement clause, giving GM Dave Nonis the flexibility to potentially unload him. In reference to the culture change comments made by Leiweke, The Globe and Mails James Mirtle said whether its a deal involving Phanuef or some other pieces on the Leafs roster, change is likely to happen. “If youre keeping the coach, then something else has to change, and I dont think theyre just going to change the assistant coaches,” Mirtle told TSN Radio 1050. “It makes sense to look at what kind of value he has on the market.” Despite having his detractors, Mirtle said Phaneuf is still a valuable piece that has misused by the Leafs. “Phaneufs got limitations certainly, and the Leafs dont particulary work around those limitations that well,” Mirtle said, referencing how Phaneuf has been successful being a second-pairing defenceman that can contribute in an offensive way. “It seems in Toronto theyve tried to recast him as this defensive stalwart – Shea Weber-type – that can kill penalties and play against other teams top lines, 25-26 minutes a night and Ive never understood why thats the case. “You can have a six or $7-million defenceman that doesnt do it all and still get value out of him.” Mirtle mentioned Edmonton, Dallas and Minnesota as potential landing spots for Phaneuf, saying he would fit in nicely in a No. 2 role behind Ryan Suter with the Wild. The Cottagers last victory came in a 2-1 home win over West Ham when Rene Meulensteen was still in charge. Since then, a miserable run of seven defeats and two draws has seen the club part with the Dutch coach and replace him with German Felix Magath.MIAMI -- Dwyane Wade came off the bench for the first time in more than six years. The Larry OBrien Trophy wasnt at stake. Spurs coach Gregg Popovich sported a casual, no-tie look. An NBA Finals rematch, yes. An NBA Finals replay, it was not. Either way, it still wound up going how the Miami Heat wanted. Chris Bosh scored 24 points on 9 for 10 shooting -- making him 17 for his last 18 from the floor -- and LeBron James added 18 points as the Heat rolled past the San Antonio Spurs 113-101 on Sunday, never trailing and leading by as many as 29 points along the way. "Did that feel like The Finals? No, it did not feel like The Finals," is how Heat coach Erik Spoelstra opened his postgame remarks, without anyone even asking the question. Mario Chalmers scored 16 points for Miami, which used Wade as a reserve for the first time since Jan. 6, 2008. Wade -- an All-Star starter again this season -- had not played in any of Miamis most recent four games while dealing with ongoing knee rehabilitation, and finished with eight points and five assists in 24 minutes. Wade said not starting was his idea, and seemed generally pleased with his first game in nine days. "Ive only had one practice in a while," Wade said. "Team was in a good groove. I wanted to work my way into my rhythm." Michael Beasley scored 12, Norris Cole scored 11 and Ray Allen added 10 for Miami (32-12). Spoelstra said afterward that nothing is set in stone about Wades status going forward. "It was just good to have him out there," Spoelstra said. Tim Duncan led San Antonio with 23 points. Boris Diaw added 15, Marco Belinelli scored 12 and Tony Parker finished with 11 for the Spurs, who were without three players who played key roles in last years Finals. Kawhi Leonard (hand), Danny Green (hand) and Tiago Splitter (shoulder) all remain sidelined for San Antonio (33-11), which lost for just the fourth time in 20 road games. "Everybody has injuries. You have to deal with them during the season," said Parker, who jammed a finger Sunday but didnt seem concerned. &qquot;Obviously, its hurting us but theyre going to come back. Air Max 90 False. We just have to keep pushing and try to get better." The game was tied at 44 late in the first half. Before long, it was a runaway. Miami closed the second quarter with a 14-6 spurt, outscored San Antonio 33-21 in the third and opened the fourth on a 13-4 run, just in case there was any remaining doubt, which hardly seems likely. Add it up, and over a 20-minute stretch the two-time defending champs outscored the Spurs 60-31. "They kind of got in a comfort zone," Duncan said. "Obviously a very good team and very good at what they do, just didnt get them off their game at all." Sundays game was the first official meeting between the teams since Miami won Game 7 of last seasons Finals. San Antonio visited Miami in the preseason, a night where the title rematch was the only thing really worth talking about, but at least the Spurs didnt have to see Miamis third championship banner hanging from the rafters of AmericanAirlines Arena that night. "Obviously, it brought back memories, for sure," James said. "But its a regular-season game where both teams were trying to get better." The third quarter decided just about everything. Bosh was 4 for 4 from the field, on the way to a 12-point quarter. Got a question on rule clarification, comments on rule enforcements or some memorable NHL stories? Kerry wants to answer your emails at cmonref@tsn. Adidas NMD R1 White .ca! Hi Kerry, In Saturday nights game between the Canadiens and Flyers, there was a shot from PK Subban at the point that went wide and was stuck in the side of the net forcing a whistle. At this point, Montreal was on a power play and up 2-0 in the game. My question is, why did the face-off after this whistle stay in the Flyers end? If a shot from a Canadiens player goes over the glass or onto the back of the net and is blown dead, the face-off should come outside, shouldnt it? I am just wondering how this case is different as it did not touch a Flyers player before becoming lost in the side of the net. This was a very pivotal point in the game as the Canadiens scored shortly after the next draw which remained in the Flyers zone, putting the game pretty much out of reach. Thanks for taking the time to answer my e-mail and I look forward to your response. Brett WalkerMelita, MB Brett, You are correct in your understanding and interpretation of Rule 85 - Puck Out of Bounds. The ensuing face-off should have been conducted on the neutral zone spot nearest to the Flyers blue line once the puck became lodged under the protective netting skirt directly off the shot by PK Subban (which was not deflected by a Flyers player or goalie Ray Emery). Im giving the game officials a free pass on this one as a result of some miscommunication they apparently received during the video review process from the situation room. You need to give them a pass this time around as well! First, you need to understand the variations in the rule that could apply in this situation. The overriding premise regarding face-off location when a puck goes out of bounds or becomes unplayable is to provide the team at fault with the least amount of territorial advantage. An unplayable puck is one that becomes lodged in the netting on the outside of either goal. This understanding is verified in Rule 85.5 - "Should an attacking player cause the puck to go out of play or become unplayable in the attacking zone, the face-off shall take place at a neutral zone face-off spot or at a face-off spot in the zone from which the puck left the ice, whichever is less advantageous to the attacking team. For a puck that is unplayable due to being lodged in the netting or as a result of it being frozen between opposing players, the resulting face-off shall be at either of the adjacent face-off spots unless in the opinion of the Referee, the stoppage was caused by the attacking team, in which case the resulting face-off shall be conducted in the neutral zone…" PK Subban clearly caused the stoppage of play in this situation. (An exception to this rule is when the puck deflects off the goal post or crossbar, when cause by either team, either shot directly or deflected off any player or official, the face-off is always to be conducted in that end zone at the nearest face-off spot. Rule 85.1) The next logical question we ask is why the face-off remained in the Flyers end zone following video review and a lengthy conference between the Officials to determine puck drop location? We need to look no further than the explanation posted on the NHL Situation Room blog which states: "At 4:42 of the third period in the Flyers/Canadiens game, video review determined that P.K. Subbans shot entered through the side of the net. No goal Montreal." In looking at the replay, it is clear that the puck did not enter the net but was trapped on the outside of the mesh between the protective skirting. As a result of the Situation Room written explanation, it is only logical to assume that Referee Eric Furlatt would have been informed that the shot entered through the side of the net! Furlatt would communicate this information to his colleagues on the ice during their conference. Given this flawed information, the correct face-off location rule application (oxymoron) would be found in a portion of Rule 85.2 that states; "Should the puck go under the goal either from behind or the side or through the mesh from behind or the side, the ensuing face-off should take place at the nearest face-off spot in the zone nearest to the location where the play was stopped." That location would be in the Flyers end zone to the right of Ray Emery! Whatever the reason Brett, the incorrect face-off location resulted once PK Subban caused the stoppage of play in the attacking zone when his direct shot became caught in the outside netting and rendered unplayable. It would appear to have been lost somewhere in the communication. "@gjmarc: @24Banks hey man happy new year ... See you on the turf at BC Place in 2014!” (I dont know about that) we will see." Banks hopes to return to the Lions for a ninth season, but is preparing for life after the Lions. The 34-year old believes the Lions want him back, but is growing frustrated at the lack of progress towards reaching a contract extension. Banks is entering the option year of his deal, but like many CFL veteran players, has no intention of playing without an extension. The seven-time all-star, who doesnt use an agent, reached out repeatedly to the Lions front office, but isnt hearing much back. Lions GM Wally Buono is currently on his annual vacation in Hawaii, but has been known to regularly conduct business from there. Buono plans to return to Vancouver on January 15th, at which time he will sit down with Benevides and new defensive coordinator, Mark Washington, and take recommendations from his coaches on which returning players are biggest priorities and where the team must upgrade. "This will not be about money," said Buono. "If the coaches tell me that Korey is a player they must have to get this defense to play at a championship level then well get it (an extension) done. If their feeling is that there has been a loss of production that comes with age, or that he may not fit in as well with any potiential scheme changes, then well have to make a decision."Banks is one of a number of thirty-somethings on the Lions defense, including fellow defensive backs, Dante Marsh and Ryan Phillips, both of whom are expected to return for 2014. Keron Williams, scheduled to become a free aggent in February, plans to explore NFL possibilities. Adidas NMD Black Sale. . Banks believes his value to the organization has been demonstrable. "Ive given a lot to this team. At least show me the respect of making a decision and letting me get on with things for my family," said Banks from his home in Atlanta. "Im not like the other guys, who have never played anywhere but BC. Im prepared to move on if I have to. Im sure I wont have a problem finding work with another team." Lions head coach Mike Benevides thinks the ball will rest in Bankss court. "I still believe Korey can play the game at a high level," said Benevides. "Hes a tremendous leader and provides value, but its a case right now of how he sees himself at this stage [of his career] and where he wants to be." Banks is also considering retirement. He has been approached about a number of coaching opportunities at the NCAA level, and says he could see himself going in that direction. Ultimately though, Banks still hopes to play at least one more season, but only if the price is right. He wont be surprised if the Lions ask him to take a reduced salary for 2014 but says, "I wont go through what Geroy (Simon) went through last year," referring to the drastic reduction in salary and role the CFLs all-time leading receiver was asked to take last year. Simon would eventually be traded to Saskatchewan, where he won his third Grey Cup in November. Its highly unlikely the Lions would ask Banks to take as drastic a pay cut as Simon was asked to, and given the makeup of CFL rosters, if he returns, he would almost certainly still be teams starting nickelback. But both Banks and Benevides acknowledge there are no guarantees and, as the Simon situation at this time last year showed, anything is possible. ' ' '

In today’s NHL, there are two types of bad contracts: those that are poisonous and unsalvageable, and those that seem to be a regrettable overpayment. Air Max 270 React Discount . To be fair, there are really only a couple of contracts that fit into that first group. The first would be Toronto’s David Clarkson and his buyout-proof $36.75-million contract signed last summer. The second would be Florida’s Dave Bolland and his $27.5-million deal. One commonality between the players was that each seemed to be signed -- in large part or in totality -- to provide intangibles. The Clarkson and Bolland eras are off to predictably bad starts. (Note: I would very seriously entertain Philadelphia’s Andrew MacDonald as a third player here.) It’s the other group – the ‘regrettable overpayment’ one – that’s fascinating. Here, you have an assortment of players on bad deals for a variety of reasons. Two of those players, including Los Angeles’ Mike Richards and Ottawa’s Colin Greening, were waived this week. Eventually, teams reach breaking points with the respective player, refusing to wait any longer for an increasingly unlikely rebound. I think there’s certainly value in identifying a few of these ‘bad contract’ types that exhibit signs of being salvageable, especially since teams shopping these players are generally looking for little more than cap relief. It’s a bit of a dumpster-diving exercise, but if you have the cap room to roll the dice and take a shot on a potentially-productive player for next to nothing, it’s something worth considering. Carolina’s Alex Semin sits firmly in the bad contracts category, a $35MM healthy scratch who has drawn the ire of head coach Bill Peters. The team is already considering waivers – a buyout is another option, though general manager Ron Francis seems cool to that idea. Alex Semin’s fall from grace has really been about an unprecedented collapse in the scoring department. A quick graph can show how Semin’s raw scoring output has simply fallen apart in 2014-2015: For a player who has never struggled to score at the NHL level, Semin’s fall-off in 2014-2015 is mesmerizing. Making matters worse, the Carolina Hurricanes as a team have seen their shot generation drop off of a cliff, which means fewer overall chances for Semin and the rest of his teammates. Even still, this lack of scoring seems surreal for a player of Semin’s abilities. Abilities that I can say are well established – for all of his criticisms, Semin’s been regarded as a great shooter. Semin’s posted an individual shooting percentage of 13.0% since coming into the league in 2003-2004. When you can sustain a shooting percentage of 13.0% over 1,700 shots, it’s likely that your individual shooting ability is a skill. Perhaps we can expect for his goal-scoring to regress back near his natural mean. But, does that mean much if the player is getting kicked around at even-strength? For a player who has been a routine fixture in the press box, one would assume that Semin’s game has struggled well beyond some poor individual shooting puck luck. To get a better picture of what the team has done historically with Semin on the ice (and is doing in 2014-2015), we can pull out goal rates, scoring chance rates, and shot-attempt rates. Ideally, we like to see that the team in question is better with the player on the ice than off of the ice – a positive relative number would signify as much. If, theoretically, Semin has depreciated as a player, one would expect to see it in the below graph: Well, that’s certainly curious. Other than an odd downtick in the lockout-shortened season, Semin’s teams always seem to be better from a possession (Corsi%) or scoring chance perspective with him on the ice. That’s very, very encouraging. And, for five years straight, Semin’s teams have always been better from a goal-based analysis – including this year. However, the big slide in the RelativeGoal% line is curious – and likely one of the smoking guns working against Semin this season. Carolina may still be better with him on the ice than off, but it’s a razor-thin margin now, a stark contrast from years past. Is there something contributing to that RelativeGoal% slide beyond some unlucky individual shooting? Perhaps there’s something peculiar going on in the defensive end, where Semin and his teammates are getting another dose of some unfavourable variance. And there is our answer. Alex Semin and his teammates can’t seem to buy a save this season. It’s important to note that over the past four seasons, Semin’s goaltenders have stopped around 93% of shots at 5-on-5. This year? 88%. On-ice save percentages are swamped by random variance, and there is virtually no evidence that a forward can control the rate at which saves are made on a year-to-year basis. That is to say: it is extremely unlikely high on-ice save percentage is a skill, and low on-ice save percentage a deficit in a player’s game. Even if you refuse to believe that on-ice save percentage regresses heavily to league averages, you should be convinced by the fact that Semin’s never really had a season like this one from a defensive aspect. Combine that with the fact that Semin’s never really had a season like this one from an individual goal-scoring aspect, and you really have a perfect storm of unfortunate circumstances for a player who can’t seem to get out of his team’s doghouse. None of this makes Semin’s contract a good one – he’s a 30+ forward who relies heavily on his goal-scoring ability, and it’s definitely possible that age regression’s going to bite hard in coming years. That said, I think there are a lot of factors working against Semin outside of his control right now. And, if I have a chance to move one of my bad contracts out for the bad contract of Semin, it’s a move I strongly consider. This sort of trade is all about calculating risk and reward, and with Semin, there’s far greater potential for payoff than many of the other players currently sitting with unsavoury term and dollar. CLEVELAND -- In a stunning season of walk-off wins, late-inning comebacks and magical moments , Jason Giambi provided the most stirring one yet. Willy Adames Rays Jersey . "It doesnt get any better than that," Giambi said. "Im speechless." The Indians are roaring toward October. Giambi belted a two-run, pinch-hit homer with two outs in the ninth inning to give Cleveland a shocking 5-4 win over the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night, keeping the Indians up with the lead pack in the AL wild-card race. Giambi drove a 1-1 pitch from Addison Reed (5-4) deep into the lower deck in right field to prevent a potentially devastating loss for the Indians, who are trying to make the post-season for the first time since 2007. Giambis heart-pounding shot bailed out controversial closer Chris Perez, who gave up two homers in the top of the ninth and nearly blew a game Cleveland absolutely had to have. "I made him give me a hug because he needed it," Giambi said of Perez, who hasnt spoken to the media in months. "He can wipe this away and start fresh tomorrow." As he rounded third base, the 42-year-old Giambi slowed down before being engulfed at the plate by his teammates as the Indians celebrated their 13th straight win over Chicago. Giambi then wrapped his arms around manager Terry Francona and carried him off the field. "I think I have a man crush on G," Francona said. "That was pretty awesome. Boy, did he hit that ball. Wow!" The Indians have 11 walk-off wins this season, with nine players taking turns in the heros role. "Ive said this before, but this is the ultimate team Ive ever played on," Giambi said. "Its unbelievable how many people have helped us win games this season." Long after Giambis homer cut through the October-like air, fans lingered in their seats and the Indians were still in a daze. "I was giggling around the ball field and the hallways like a 7-year old kid for 10 minutes after that happened," All-Star second baseman Jason Kipnis said. "That was the coolest thing Ive ever seen." Bryan Shaw (6-3) came in after Perez had nearly given away a game the Indians couldnt afford to lose. Giambi has been a steadying force all season for the Indians in the clubhouse, and the unquestioned Drama King on it. This was his 10th career walk-off homer, and his second pinch-hit, walk-off this season. On July 29, he became the oldest player to hit a walk-off homer, breaking a mark previously held by Hall of Famer Hank Aaron. Now, Giambi has become the Indians elder statesman of swat. After he dressed, Giambi was on his way out of Clevelands clubhouse when Nick Swisher offered his assistance. "Ill carry you. Ill carry your car. Ill carry anything you need, Big G," Swisher said. "That guy has been monstrous for this organization." Perez owes him big time. In the top of the ninth, Perez, who has walked a tightrope on and off the field all season, had to be pulled by Francona after failing to close out a 3-2 lead. Cleveland remains in the second AL wild-card spot, one game ahead of Texas and one behind Tampa Bay. The Rangers beat Houston 3-2, and the Rays shut out the Yankees 7-0. With five games left, any loss can be devastating. On this night, Giambi saved Perez, the Indians -- and maybe their season. "Hes always ready, and thats why hes playing this game -- because he wants to win," Francona said. "He is willing to do anything for anybody at any time. Hes been a blessing for all of us." Even the White Sox appreciate Giambi. "Ive seen him do that before," Chicago manager Robin Ventura said. "Having played with him, just knowing how he is on the team, you might not see it in numbers, but the personality of their team and how they play, how they go about their business, I know hes a pretty big piece of that, regardless of how much hes played." With the Indians leading 3-2, Perez gave up a homer to Dayan Viciedo, a shot into the right-field seats that drew a groan from Cleveland fans the moment it left his bat. Perez struck out the next two hitters, but Alejandro De Aza connected on his next pitch, driving it over the wall in right-centre. Perez stalked around the mound with his head down before giving up a single to Alexei Ramirez. That brought out Francona to a loud ovation and Perez, who has been a lightning rod of debate over the past two seasons, was booed loudly as he left the field. "He left a couple pitches that were over the middle of the plate," said Francona, who shot down any thought of changing closer this late in the season. "Were not going to shift gears with four games, five games, however many we have left." Indians centre fielder Michael Bourn sprained his right wrist in the fifth inning and was being treated by trainer Lonnie Soloff when Giambi connected on his homer. "I almost broke Lonnies neck," Bourn said. "You dont see something like that very often." NOTES: Giambi is the 13th player since 1950 with 10 or more walk-off homers. ... White Sox 1B Paul Konerko fouled a pitch off his leg in the eighth, struck out and was pulled from the game. ... Indians All-Star RHP Justin Masterson could pitch in relief as early as Wednesday when he returns from a strained left oblique. Francona said Masterson, out since Sept. 2, will join Clevelands bullpen for the final week. Its unlikely the team leader in wins, innings and strikeouts, will start again this season unless the Indians make the playoffs and play deep into October. ... The six-foot-two, 200-pound defender may not possess the wow-inspiring theatrics of fellow prospect Morgan Rielly, but nonetheless has a chance to contribute with the Leafs when all is said and done this season.TSN Hockey Insiders Bob McKenzie, Pierre LeBrun and Darren Dreger have the latest on security and safety at the Sochi Games, if the NHL is ready to expand video review, who might be available in Edmonton, could Matt Moulson be a member of the Senators, and more. Who might be available and who might be on the move in Edmonton? Darren Dreger: Sam Gagner, we know. Ales Hemsky, we know. Ryan Smyth is expected. Theres no dialog between Craig MacTavish and Ryan Smyth. The belief is that Smyth wants one more crack with a winning team to see if he can win the Stanley Cup. Hes still effective, at least in the offensive zone, so I expect his name will heat up as we get closer to the deadline. Could Matt Moulson be heading to Ottawa? Pierre LeBrun: Matt Moulson will be a very popular name as the March deadline approaches. We know hes one of the guys the LA Kings are looking at, but the Ottawa Senators are another team. A little bit of a connection with the Senators, as GM Bryan Murrays nephew Tim Murray is now GM in Buffalo. Moulsons a guy that if the Senators can stay in the playoff mix over the next few weeks, I believe they will make inquiries on him. Might Thomas Vanek, who was part of the Moulson trade, re-sign on Long Island? LeBrun: He has liked it on Long Island a lot more than he thought he would. You hear these stories about the Islanders and playing in a bad rink but Vanek has really enjoyed his time there. He loves playing with John Tavares and he likes the way hes been treated by Garth Snow, so hes got a big decision to make. I think at the end of the day hes still going to go to free agency, which makes him force the hand of Snow. For Snow, thats the number one priority; to sign Vanek before the trade deadline. How big an issue is security and safety at the Sochi Olympics? Dreger: It is a concerning issue. The threat of terrorism always is going to be concerning for a world spectacle such as this and thats not lost on neither the Players Association and National Hockey League. Both will tell you that their guest list, be it family or friends, is reducing on a week-by-week basis leading up to the Olympic Games but the NHL is confident that their safety will be insured by the Russian government and the International Olympic Organization. But iff there were significant terrorist attempts or attacks prior to the Olympics in Sochi, I think that the NHL and the NHLPA also wouldnt hesitate to remove themselves from the Games. Cole Sulser Rays Jersey. Is the NHL ready to expand video review and when? LeBrun: I think more than ever. Its all about timing and I can tell you right now that its on the GMs agenda in March when they will again tackle this. But this time, I think the league might finally get its way. We know that hockey operations has wanted to expand video review for a long time and if they get their way this year, not only will they get it moving forward but maybe even for the playoffs if they can get the owners and the NHLPA to sign off. Lots of "ifs" but certainly theres a different movement here. Bob McKenzie: I believe that Detroit goal on Saturday night was the tipping point for general managers. GMs in the past have overwhelmingly been against expanding video review but after Saturday night, I surveyed 23 NHL GMs and 22 of them said we cannot have a repeat of what happened on Saturday night. The one GM who didnt say that said they have to discuss what theyre going to do. Now, how exactly they go about that is the controversial aspect. Some guys want the coachs challenge, some guys want it only to be on the very specific play where a puck comes off the mesh, and some guys want the referees to be able to review it at the penalty bench. Its all over the map and how they process this is the controversial aspect to it. But after that goal that was scored on Saturday night, many general managers said could you imagine if the Stanley Cup was decided on a goal like that. Does anything come of Sens owner Eugene Melnyk presenting the NHL Matt Cooke investigation evidence? McKenzie: No, it doesnt. When this incident happened last season, Melnyk said that he believed in his heart that Cooke had malice and intentionally severed the tendon of Erik Karlsson. He said afterwards he was going to prove it and talked about a forensic investigation. He spent a lot of time, effort and money and put together a fully detailed medical report and presented that to the NHL in New York City on Monday. Theres not going to be any retroactive justice here, but Eugene Melnyk had his day in court, so to speak, and did what he said he was going to do. ' ' '

In an unusually blunt public warning, a vice-president of the International Olympic Committee on Tuesday called the delayed preparations for the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro "the worst I have experienced. Air Max 720 Scontate ." John Coates, who has made six trips to Brazil as part of the IOCs co-ordination commission for Rio, said the Brazilians are behind "in many, many ways" and are in worse shape than Greek organizers were in preparing for the 2004 Olympics. Despite the critical delays, the Australian said there is no backup plan and the games will take place in Rio. Coates noted that the IOC had taken the unprecedented step of embedding experts in the host city to help the local organizing committee deliver the games. "The IOC has formed a special task force to try and speed up preparations but the situation is critical on the ground," Coates told an Olympic forum in Sydney, outlining that construction delays are just part of the problem. "The IOC has adopted a more hands-on role. It is unprecedented for the IOC, but there is no plan B. We are going to Rio." Brazil has also come under fire from footballs world governing body, FIFA, for long delays in construction of stadiums and other infrastructure and the overdue delivery of venues for the World Cup, which kicks off in June. Two years out from the 2016 Olympics, the situation on the construction front is just as bleak. "We have become very concerned. They are not ready in many, many ways," Coates said. "And this is against a city thats got social issues that also have to be addressed; a country thats also trying to deal with the FIFA World Cup coming up in a few months." Coates said dealing with three levels of government in Brazil made it harder for local organizers than it was for the heavily criticized organizers of the Athens Games, which were also plagued by construction delays and earned a "yellow light" warning from then-IOC President Juan Antonio Samaranch. "I think this is a worse situation than Athens," Coates said. "In Athens, we were dealing with one government and some city responsibilities. Here, theres three. "There is bureaucracy, there is little co-ordination between the federal, the state government and the city -- which is responsible for a lot of the construction. The flow of funds from the federal government is not happening quickly enough. We think we need to help facilitate that." Coates, who chairs the IOC co-ordination commission for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, said he thinks the IOC has put the message across in Brazil. "We have to make it (the Olympics) happen and that is the IOC approach, you cant walk away from this," he said. "If it comes off -- the first (Olympic) Games on the South American continent, in a magical city in so many ways -- itll be a wonderful experience for the athletes." Work hasnt begun at Deodoro, a complex for eight Olympics sports venues, and the course that will host golfs return to the Olympic program for the first time in more than a century doesnt have grass yet. Water pollution is a big worry for sailing and other sports. Concern over the delays has been building over time but hit crisis levels at the SportAccord meeting in Belek, Turkey, earlier this month. In a rare display of unified, open criticism against an Olympic host, 18 sports federations publicly aired concerns over Rios preparations, with some sports asking about "Plan B" contingencies. The IOC has decided to send a senior troubleshooter, IOC executive director Gilbert Felli, to Brazil as part of a series of emergency measures to tackle the delays threatening the games. Coates said other experienced, high-level staff will soon be appointed. Rio Mayor Eduardo Paes fired back last week at the complaints by sports federations, saying they were making too many unnecessary demands. Paes said the federations were asking for too many "large things" that wont be used by the city after the Olympics. Air Max 270 Outlet . CHARLESTON, S. Adidas NMD XR1 For Sale .C. -- Montreals Eugenie Bouchard couldnt finish off German Andrea Petkovic on Saturday at the Family Circle Cup womens tennis tournament. Bouchard was two games away from recording the win and advancing to her second WTA Tour final. But the ninth-ranked Petkovic rallied for the 1-6, 6-3, 7-5 victory and hand the 20-year-old Bouchard her third loss in as many head-to-head meetings between the two. Playing her third straight three-set match, Bouchard was just one point away from going ahead 5-2 in the third. But Petkovic broke Bouchard twice down the stretch to advance to her first championship since Washington, D.C., last August where she fell to Magdalena Rybarikova in straight sets. "I think I just hesitated on a few balls and on my chances. Thats not the way I want to play," Bouchard said. "I really want to go for my shots, and when I hesitate, it doesnt end up well for me." Petkovic will face Jana Cepelova, who came back from 4-1 down in a third-set tiebreaker to oust 17-year-old Swiss qualifier Belinda Bencic 6-4, 5-7, 7-6 (7). Petkovic broke down and cried with a towel over her head after the match, happy and relieved that she was again in this position after the past three years dealing with injuries to her ankle, knee and back that caused her to miss nine months on tour. "I was just so relieved and I was proud that I came back from all these injuries, and I never thought that I would play finals in the big tournaments again," said Petkovic, who hadnt gotten past the quarter-finals in her six previous tournaments this season. Petkovic, ranked 40th in the world, calmly analyzed her first-set shortcomings and understood that with a few changes, she could get back in the match. "I wasnt that upset because I felt Genie was playing incredible tennis," she said. "I just lacked that 10 per cent." So Petkovic moved a step closer to the baseline so she could hit deeper forehands and put Bouchard on her heels. Things finally clicked midway through the second set as Petkovic fought off three break points to hold serve and begin her comeback. "I said, Even if I miss more, Im going to have to get the length or shes going to kill me," Petkovic said. Bouchard wasnt done, taking a 4-2 lead in the final set and having a chance to break serve for a bigger lead. But Petkovic hit a pair of crisp serves to win that game and followed by breaking Bouchards serve to tie the set at four games. Petkovic broke Bouchards serve a final time to close out the match on four consecutive points. Bouchard trailed in the third set in her two previous matches before eliminating No. 11 seed Venus Williams in the third round and No. 2 seed Jelena Jankovic in the quarter-finals. Against Petkovic, Bouchard says she didnt play as aggressively down the stretch as she had hoped. Petkovics father, Zoran, played college tennis at South Carolina and was among the Gamecocks top players with an 18-8 singles record in 1982. She hopes to give her family more reason to celebrate their connections to the Palmetto State. Andrea Petkovic, whos won two WTA titles at Strasbourg in 2011 and Bad Gastein in 2009, understands shell be expected to easily defeat her untested opponent. "They are super young, so they will come out and play great tennis," she said. "I am 100 per cent sure of that, so I will have it very tough and I will have to fight hard." Koivu underwent surgery on Monday and is expected to miss at least four weeks.Shanghai, China (SportsNetwork.com) - Alexander Levy fired a 9-under 63 in Saturdays third round and he jumped four strokes clear of the field at the BMW Masters. Levy, a two-time winner this season on the European Tour, completed 54 holes at 22-under-par 194. His total of 194 smashed the old record of 200. Peter Hanson had set the old mark in 2012. I played amazing golf. Im very surprised by myself. I started well and made some early birdies and hit some amazing shots, Levy said. I am very happy with the way I played golf today. Jamie Donaldson matched his own course record of 62 in round three at Lake Malaren Golf Club. He is alone in second place at minus-18. Donaldson first shot 62 in 2012, the first year of the tournament. Marcel Siem is one stroke back at 17-under-par 199 after a third-round 65. Justin Rose, the highest-ranked player in the field at world No. 6, carded an 8-under 64 to move into fourth place at 15-under 201. Second-round leader Nicolas Colsaerts stumbled to a 1-over 73 and he dipped into a tie for fifth at minus-13. He was joined there by Emiliano Grillo (69). Graeme McDowell (68) and Romain Wattel (71) are tied for seventh at 12-under- par 204. Levy, the first-round leader, trailed by one at the start of the day, but he flew out of the gate with three consecutive birdies from the first to move two clear of Colsaerts, who didnt threaten the lead after that. After a pair of pars, Levy poured in a 40-footer for birdie at the sixth. He made it two in a row with a birdie at seven. Levy led by three at that point and he made the turn with that lead as he parred the eighth and ninth. The Frenchman kicked in a short birdie effort at the 10th and followed with his third birdie in three days at the 11th. Levy extended his lead to five strokes as he birdied the par-5 13th. He also 2-putted for birdiee at the 15th, another par-5, to move to 22-under. Nike Air Max 270 Flyknit China. . Levy parred the final three holes to end there. Its nice to be in this position. It was pretty much the same when I won in China (in April), so I am going to enjoy the game tomorrow, do my best and see what happens, Levy stated. Donaldson used a hot stretch of golf, in which he went 9-under over an 11-hole stretch, to soar in to second place. He parred four of the first five holes to go with a birdie at the second. The Welshman started his hot streak with birdies at the sixth and seventh. After making par at eight, Donaldson drained three straight birdie efforts from the ninth. Donaldson birdied the par-5 13th, and he has played that hole in 4-under par for the week. He made it two in a row as he also birdied the 14th from 50 feet out. Donaldson jumped into second place as he holed his 9-iron approach shot at 16 for eagle. He parred the last two holes to end four back. Obviously the course suits my game. Ive shot 10-under before and Ive done it today, which is great. I got the ball rolling better on the greens, which made a big difference and obviously that shot on 16 was a big bonus, said Donaldson. I had 142 yards to the flag, slightly uphill into the wind, which was a soft 9-iron and it came off spot on. Pitched just past the hole and spun back and went in. Its quite a narrow entrance into that green from where I was, but it pitched perfect and obviously is a bonus to see it go in. NOTES: Levy owns the 54-hole lead for the second time this season on the European Tour, and for the third time in his career ... He won the China Open in April, the last time he had the third-round lead ... Levys total of 22- under par is the lowest 54-hole score of the season on the European Tour ... This is the first event of the European Tours finals series. ' ' '

CLEVELAND -- With wads of money to spend, the Cleveland Browns didnt waste any time shoving millions into two defensive holes they created this winter. Noe Ramirez Angels Jersey . During the furious first few hours of free agency Tuesday, the team agreed to terms with strong safety Donte Whitner, a Cleveland native who cant wait to play in his hometown. "I must now embark on my intended journey and become a Cleveland Brown," Whitner wrote on his Twitter account. "A place thats very dear to my heart!" Also, the Browns reportedly struck a deal with inside linebacker Karlos Dansby, who resurrected his career last season in his second stint with Arizona. The team has not made any announcements. With $49 million of space under the salary cap to sign players, new Cleveland general manager Ray Farmer addressed two pressing needs after the club decided not to re-sign safety T.J. Ward or linebacker DQwell Jackson -- the Browns top tacklers last season and two of their best players. Whitners deal is reportedly worth $28 million over four years, and Dansbys is for $24 million -- $14 million guaranteed -- over four years. Farmer could be working on a blockbuster deal, with the Browns said to be interested in trading with Tampa Bay for shutdown cornerback Darrelle Revis. If they can land Revis and pair him with Pro Bowler Joe Haden, the Browns would have arguably the NFLs best tandem of cornerbacks. The Buccaneers are eager to part with Revis, who makes $16 million a year. Revis has a previous relationship with Browns coach Mike Pettine, who coached him in New York. The Browns didnt ignore their offence on the first day of free agency, signing Cincinnati wide receiver Andrew Hawkins, a restricted free agent, to an offer sheet. The Bengals have five days to match the contract or Hawkins will join the Browns, who need a replacement at slot receiver after releasing troubled veteran Davone Bess. A two-time Pro Bowler, Whitner is returning to Cleveland to help turn around a franchise he pulled for as a kid. As word of his signing leaked out shortly after 4 p.m., Whitner, who played at Ohio State before he was drafted by Buffalo, tweeted "O-H" in a nod to both his alma mater and home state. After playing 14 seasons in Cleveland, 49ers kicker Phil Dawson can appreciate Whitners excitement about the homecoming. "If most guys are honest, they have a soft spot in their hearts for their hometown, and obviously Dontes getting to go home," Dawson said on a conference call after receiving a new two-year deal with San Francisco. "One thing I know about Cleveland is when you grow up there, you wear orange and brown. No matter where you go or how far youve been gone, if youve grown up in Cleveland, youre a Browns fan. "Im sure its a special opportunity for Donte. Obviously were going to miss him. Hes a great player. Hell be a huge addition to that organization." Whitner spent five seasons with the Bills, who selected him with the No. 8 overall pick in 2006. Nicknamed "Hitner," the 28-year-old signed a three-year, $11.75 million free-agent deal with San Francisco in 2011 and played three seasons with the 49ers, getting to the NFC championship each year. Hes been durable, missing just one game in the past four seasons. Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer, another proud Clevelander, is thrilled to have Whitner as a new teammate. "Great to have another hometown guy here to help us win! Congrats @DonteWhitner!" Hoyer posted on his Twitter account. The 6-foot-4, 250-pound Dansby fills the void left by the surprising departure of Jackson, the respected captain and team leader. Dansby, 32, had 122 tackles, 6 1/2 sacks and four interceptions with the Cardinals last season. He spent his first six years with Arizona, signed with Miami for three and then returned to the Cardinals as a free agent in 2013. A speedster who played collegiately at Toledo, Hawkins worked out for Cleveland in 2008 before he signed in the Canadian Football League. The 28-year-old signed with the Bengals in 2011 and had a career-high 51 receptions for 533 yards and four touchdowns in 2012. He was limited to eight games last season because of an ankle injury. Mark Teixeira hit a two-run single, Brett Gardner added an RBI double and the New York Yankees held on for a 4-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday in the opener of a single-admission doubleheader. "As a pitcher, the win is always a good thing," Kuroda said through a translator. "Even though you may not have perfect stuff, to get the win is very encouraging." It had been quite some time since Kuroda (3-3) came out a winner. He was 0-2 with three no-decisions since beating Boston on April 12. Kuroda allowed a homer in the first Sunday to Neil Walker — his ninth — but then retired nine in a row before walking Andrew McCutcheon in the fourth. The right-hander was hurt by the home run again in the fifth, when Tony Sanchez led off with a drive to left field. Kuroda was lifted after throwing 98 pitches and allowing five hits and two walks. He struck out seven in lowering his ERA to 4.61. The former Los Angeles Dodger improved to 6-1 against Pittsburgh. "The mechanics, the command are not as good as last year," said Kuroda, who was 6-2 at this point last season. New York needed four relievers to finish the opener of the first traditional twinbill at Yankee Stadium since 2004. David Robertson got four outs for his eighth save. Brian McCann had an RBI single and New York scored all its runs in the first two innings on five hits after belting five homers in a 7-1 victory Saturday. The Yankees improved to 8-0 in interleague home games against Pittsburgh and will try for their third three-game sweep of the Pirates, along with 2005 and 07, in the finale. Pittsburghs Gerrit Cole faces Vidal Nuno. With the second game scheduled to begin about 30 minutes after the end of the first, Yankees manager Joe Girardi said Derek Jeter would only start the opener. Girardi also said Jacoby Ellsbury would not start in centre field both games after sitting out Saturday with flu-like symptoms. Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said to expect lineup changes for the finale. His main concern, though, was protecting his bullpen for the second game, and Charlie Morton (0-6) diid just that with seven solid innings after a shaky start. Bert Blyleven Jersey. Morton walked Gardner to open the first. Jeter then bunted down the third base line for a hit and Ellsbury was hit by a pitch to load the bases for Teixeira, who homered Saturday. The hot-hitting first baseman lined his single to right-centre. McCann followed with a single for a 3-1 lead. "Well, I walked Gardner to lead off the game, the bunts a hit, I hit Ellsbury, bases loaded, no outs," Morton said. "I backed myself in a corner and they took advantage." Gardner doubled in the second but Morton settled down after that. He allowed just one baserunner the rest of his outing, and Zoilo Almonte, who singled with two outs in the fourth, was picked off first base — after a replay overturned an original safe call. Walkers RBI single in the fifth cut the lead to 4-3. "We had some opportunities again," Hurdle said. "We pushed (Kuroda), pushed the pitch limit. He found outs when he had to to stay in the game and complete the innings that he pitched." The Pirates scored three runs for Morton after giving him only three runs of support in his previous four starts. He gave up six hits and walked one with six strikeouts. President Vladimir Putin has hit out at the decision to ban Russian track and field athletes from the upcoming Olympic Games in Rio. Michael Jordan Jersey Throwback . Putin described the exclusion of the athletes as discrimination and part of a deliberate campaign. And Putin also said that medals won in Rio would be devalued due to the absence of Russian participation. Your colleagues from other sports powers realise that the value of their medals will be different, Putin told track and field stars such as Yelena Isinbayeva and Sergey Shubenkov. This victory will have a different taste - or no taste at all.And the Russian president added: The current situation does not only go beyond the legal sphere, it goes beyond common sense. We cannot accept indiscriminate disqualification of our athletes with absolutely clean doping histories. We cannot and will not accept what in fact is pure discrimination. Pole vaulting great Yelena Isinbayeva will have to sit out the Rio Olympics Putin was speaking after the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) had confirmed that the ban on the athletes would remain in place. The suspension was imposed in November due to systematic state-sponsored doping by Russia and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) upheld that decision last week.Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko wrote to the IAAF on Monday in an attempt to get the ban overturned but was told there were no grounds for further review.Putin spoke to the Russian team on Wednesday, before they fly out on Thursday, and dozens of the track and field athletes who are not eligible to compete in the Rio Games also attended. Its obvious that the absence of Russian competitors, leaders in many disciplines, will lower the intensity of the fight and that means the spectacle at the upcoming events, said Putin.More than 100 Russian athletes - including all but one of the track and field team - will miss the Olympics but the country has avoided being totally excluded. Despite a valiant effort over 35 holes, the Canadian came up just short in the final of the U.S. Amateur, losing 2 & 1 to South Koreas Gunn Yang. It was the second time in two weeks that a Canadian golfer had reached the final of an American championship. Last Sunday, Brooke Henderson lost the final of the womens championship. “It was a long day, fun match,” Conners said after accepting the runner-up medal. “Pretty tough fought. It was hard to win holes. Birdies are hard to come by out here and Gunn played fantastic golf.” Conners was never up in the match, losing the first two holes of the day. It was a bit of an uncharacteristic opening for Conners, who is generally good at hitting fairways and greens. He was in nine bunkers over the first 18, which prompted some good-natured ribbing from pal and caddie Taylor Pendrith. “He was making fun of me because he had to rake all those bunkers,” Conners chuckled. “He said his limit on the second 18 was going to be five.” After the first 18, hed managed to cut Yangs lead in half. When the duo returned for the second 18, Conners quickly put the contest to all square with a birdie on the first hole. However Yang birdied six and seven and never looked back, eventually closing Conners out on the 35th-hole. “It stings a little bit to lose the final match, but [I] played some good golf today,” said Conners, who reeceived congratulatory messages from Graham DeLaet and Marlene Streit, among others. Michael Jordan Jersey Chicago Bulls. “Just wasnt meant to be.” Conners admitted that his game in the final wasnt as sharp as what got him through the previous five matches. He said he simply couldnt get putts to drop despite putting good rolls on the ball. “I thought I hit nice putts,” he said. “They just slipped by and that was kind of frustrating not to have any of those drop and win some holes.” After losing in the semi-final last year, there is some consolation for Conners this year. His finish earns him spots in the Masters and the U.S. Open. The only catch is that he has to remain an amateur. While never firm in his plans, Conners admitted earlier this year that he was looking at turning professional after the World Team Amateur Championships in September. “The next eight or nine months, Im not too sure whats going to happen,” said Conners, who was cheered on by a large contingent from his home club in Listowel, Ont. “I have some planning to do, but yeah, I dont know. I havent really thought about that too much.” Despite making it so far and then falling just short, Conners was still happy with his performance. “It feels great, and I know looking back on last year, how special of a week it was and Im sure it will be the same thing this week," he said. "Pretty proud and happy with my play and was an exciting week.” ' ' '

(SportsNetwork. Wholesale Balenciaga .com) - The Vancouver Canucks look to get their offense going and avoid a fourth straight loss on Thursday night when they visit the Philadelphia Flyers. The Canucks have been outscored 9-2 over a three-game slide and have lit the lamp just 15 times in eight games since a 7-1 win over Arizona on Dec. 22. Vancouver was limited to just a second-period tally by defenseman Alex Edler in Tuesdays 5-1 loss to Nashville. His marker did pull the Canucks to within one goal, but netminder Eddie Lack was beaten between his arm and body at 13:32 of the third period for the first of three goals by the Predators in the frame. Lack allowed all five goals on 30 shots faced. Its disappointing because we battled back. That third goal is a save I have to make, Lack admitted. Lack had started the previous two games in part because Ryan Miller has been dealing with an illness. Miller, though, is expected to return to action tonight and is 14-13-2 with a 2.98 goals against average and .904 save percentage in 31 games (29 starts) versus the Flyers. Vancouver plays the second contest of a five-game road trip tonight and continues the swing on Friday in Carolina. The Flyers hope to rebound tonight after getting dealt a 1-0 road loss by the Washington Capitals on Wednesday night. Braden Holtby stopped 21 shots to record the shutout. Rob Zepp made 25 saves but suffered his first NHL defeat in his third career start for the Flyers, who were coming off a 3-1-0 homestand that included a 7-3 win over Tampa Bay on Monday. Philadelphia had some chances late to tie the game, but Vincent Lecavalier was unable to push a rebound chance into an open net with just over a minute left and captain Claude Giroux flubbed a one-time attempt from the left circle moments later. We played well, but we dont deserve a point. We missed some opportunities offensively, said Flyers head coach Craig Berube. It was almost an empty net there (on Lecavaliers chance), but weve got to bear down and put those in. Forward Scott Laughton could miss this game after exiting in the second period on Wednesday night following an open-ice hit from Washingtons Matt Niskanen. With No. 1 netminder Steve Mason out with a sprained right knee and Zepp having started last night, Ray Emery could get the call versus the Canucks. He is 1-1-0 against them in three prior meetings, including two starts, posting a 2.25 GAA and .900 save percentage. The Flyers and Canucks split two meetings last season, with each team winning on the road. Vancouver has won three of its past four in Philadelphia. Fake Balenciaga For Sale . I was quite emotional at the end. I did not actually see any of the shots in the game until I got home and watched the video. https://www.fakebalenciaga.com/ . Cilic cruised to victory, beating the seventh-seeded Seppi 6-1, 6-3 in just 72 minutes. From time to time, hell move over to the side and will weigh in with a quick tip or two. Its a comfortable approach that has paid dividends for the American League East division leaders, who boast an offence that is among the best in Major League Baseball. "I think hes hands on when he needs to and he sits back and he watches when he needs to too," said Blue Jays catcher Erik Kratz. "We have a lot of good hitters here and with good hitters comes success and some streakiness. "He does a good job of limiting the bad streaks and extending the good streaks." The teams offensive statistics over the first two months of the campaign have been eye-opening. Entering Wednesdays games, the Blue Jays led the major leagues in home runs (83) and were second in runs scored (296), RBIs (281), slugging percentage (.451), hits (534) and OPS (on-base plus slugging — .784). Toronto was also tied for second in on-base percentage (.333) and sat fifth in team batting average (.264). Seitzer keeps a close eye on all the numbers but values some statistical categories more than others. "Runs scored is the one Im most concerned about," he said. "If youre scoring runs, whether you do it by home runs, situational hitting, youve got to be able to get on base, draw walks, be able to move runners and get big hits when guys are in scoring position. "It kind of encompasses everything really." The 52-year-old native of Springfield, Ill., was hired by the Blue Jays last fall after spending parts of five seasons as a hitting coach with the Arizona Diamondbacks and Kansas City Royals. He succeeded Chad Mottola, who spent one year in the position. Seitzer, a two-time all-star as a player, had a .295 career average over 12 seasons with the Royals, Milwaukee Brewers, Oakland Athletics and Cleveland Indians. As a coach, he has preached the importance of preparation and making hard, consistent contact in the box. "Have an idea of what the pitcher has got and what hess going to try to do, and then what each guy needs to do in order to have the best chance to succeed," he said of his approach. Cheap Balenciaga. "I like to keep things simple. I dont like it complicated, they dont want it complicated. "Theyve made really good adjustments so far." The power portion of the Toronto lineup has delivered so far with sluggers Edwin Encarnacion (.272 average, 19 homers, 50 RBIs) and Jose Bautista (.310, 14 homers, 41 RBIs) on pace for big seasons. Among the other notable performances, first baseman Adam Lind is batting .347 while Melky Cabrera has a .303 average. Juan Francisco is hitting .276 with nine homers and 24 RBIs in just 36 games. As for that important runs scored category, three Toronto players are in the top 15 in the major leagues: Bautista (44 - tied for fourth), Encarnacion (41 - tied for seventh) and Cabrera (37 - tied for 14th). Those numbers are a big reason why Toronto took a 35-24 record — the second-best mark in the American League — into Wednesdays game at Detroit. Its a big step up from this time last year, when the Blue Jays were last in the East at 24-34. "Its been phenomenal," Seitzer said of the teams effort. "If youre in first place after the first third, then the second third and the third one, then youre right where you need to be. So I couldnt ask for more right now." The 2013 Blue Jays posted decent offensive numbers despite their poor 74-88 record. The team was ninth in runs scored (712), fourth in homers (185), 11th in RBIs (669), eighth in slugging percentage (.411) and 15th in batting average (.252). While Seitzer deserves his share of the credit for the improvement, hes quick to praise the players for their professional approach and effort. He has been very impressed with what hes seen so far. "Probably the most (impressive thing) is the talent level and then secondly, their work ethic and preparation going in," he said. "When you have that combination and the ability to make adjustments along the way, youve got a chance to do some damage every night. Theyve been doing great." ' ' '
